Default What to eat post periodontal (UGH!!!) Surgery?

Hey guys and gals.

Just had the aforementioned unpleasantness and I need menu suggestions.

I'm currently on the soft stage of recovery. Chicken noodle soup is good for the right brands, but a bit carby for supper.

Suggestions/recipies welcome.

Thanks!

scrambled eggs, omlettes, custard, yogurt, cottage cheese are all soft and can be made savory or sweet depending on your mood.

Can't imagine your eating too much food when you can only have softs. Ignore what you know about nutrition for the next few days (how long until your on solids? few days to a week max?) and recover. A few days isn't going to make you fat.

actually, making tuna salad or chicken salad using the canned stuff ends up pretty soft.

I was also goint to suggest chicken salad, but I wanted to add that you can make it from fresh chicken and put it in the food processor (if you have one) and it gets really soft. It's actually really good like that. Pimento cheese it always good too. And there are some soups that don't have too many carbs, like cream of mushroom and french onion. Hope you feel better!

mix equal parts ricotta and whipping cream. then mix in a scoop of protein powder and a pinch of sweetener. put it in the freezer for 20 mins. It's similar to ice cream.
