Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
I have been following Plan A for 7 days. I have just found this site and have been reading some of the other posts in regards to this program, and now I am confused. I thought you weren't supposed to count calories? One of my main reasons for doing this was because I was burning out from constantly logging every morsel of food that went into my mouth. I have lost 15 lbs since Jan 2 just counting cals and working out, but decided to try this plan to jumpstart my weightloss again as I have 20lbs left to lose. I have just been eating when hungry, not at any set times. Sometimes I do go quite awhile without eating. (Today I was up at 8am had a cup of coffee, and didn't eat until 12:30pm) Is this ok? Any input would be great.
Technically, you shouldn't have to count calories. I don't. BUT, you can't gorge yourself with 5,000 calories a day and expect to still lose fat. Because fat and protein satisfy, you should be able to eat until you are satisfied without counting calories. However, if you are following the eating rules to a "T" and not losing, then I would track your calories and see if you are overeating way more than you should. I would try to eat about 5 times a day, if you can. Maybe just a mid-morning snack, perhaps, of some almonds and string cheese.

Same here.
I think I lost about 3 pounds in my first 4 weeks of TNT and I wasn't entirely happy with that (I had lost about 18 pounds this year before starting TNT, so it wasn't horrible). I wasn't counting calories then and I don't count them now but I did start eating smaller meals and only eating snacks if I get hungry (hunger on TNT is a little different, it took me a while to learn to recognize it).
So I guess you'll probably still have to monitor your progress and make adjustments. Some people use calorie counting as part of that process but no means is it a requirement.
I have been on TNT since December and do not count calories. I figured a sample day out on a spreadsheet just to know about how many calories I am getting, but that's it.
Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day so get something in your system early. I drink a protein shake because it's quick and easy in the morning and I can drink it in the car while driving to work.
