You can also buy it at trueprotein.com. They have protein, too.
word.
i guess they have a new oat powder out now? i haven't tried it, but it's supposed to dissolve better than ground oats. I'm waiting to hear some reviews.

Do you guys trust trueprotein to order from them? This was the first time that I saw their site and it seems like they just mix together whatever you need.
I did a little search on them and they seem to be legit and around for a while. Most of the prices are very low. Since I really don't know, how much dextrose and maltodextrin should I order? Is 5 pounds each too much because I really do not know how much of each I should put into my post workout shake. I think I saw somewhere that it should be about 5g of each. Also, does trueprotein give you a label so you can see the nutritional makeup of the order as well as the ingredients that are in it?
It's roughly a 1g of C per gram of weight. Let's assume you wanted 25g of C per drink (just making that up). 454g per pound, so you'd get 18 drinks per pound. Plus, figure that you're doing 1/2 malto and 1/2 dextrose. If you ordered 5lbs of each, you'd have 180 workout drinks worth of powder, assuming 25g (total) per drink.
5g is very low. That's just 20 calories. What's the amount of P and C that you want in your drinks?
I was going for a 2:1 ration of carbs to protein in the shake, so I was thinking of 50 carbs, but that is alot of dextrose and maltodextrin. So I might just try the one to one ration of carbs to protein and try 12.5 g of dex and 12.5 grams of malto.
Doyou guys just mix the whey, dextrose, maltodextrin, all together in 8 ounces of water? The whey tastes pretty good with the amount of water to whey, but then I would be adding alot of dextros and malto.
Thanks alot for your help and quick response guys, I really appreciate it.
Anyone ever use Ovaltine for their carb source? The stuff is pretty much straight sugar, and seems like it would be cheaper than ordering online. Plus, it's chocolate flavor.

Dextrose is sweet like sugar. Malto isn't sweet. Personally, I chug mine down so fast that it doesn't really matter what it tastes like.
You can buy unsweetened P at trueproteinn.com, too. Add splenda or whatever to get it back to the level of sweetness that you like.
I've either been using waxy in my PWO shakes, or nothing at all. Waxy doesn't have a flavor, but it's very very starchy. I can't recommend it if you want something that tastes good. I have actually gotten used to it (been through about 3lbs already), and i can say i'd probably buy it

This is the second time someone mentioned waxy, what is it?
It's a starch. Supposedly, it's supposed to be extremely fast digesting.
Honestly, i like it b/c it doesn't have flavor to it, and you don't get a sugar crash from it. But, it's like adding a starch to your drink, so it gets real starchy. Not as good tasting as sugar. I don't know if i really buy into the quick absorption thing. If you want something that tastes good, i wouldn't buy the waxy. If you don't really care what you're drinking (like me, Ha!), get the waxy.
The important thing is just to get some protein and carbs after your workout. I think the nutrient timing this is overblown, personally. You could just down some protein and eat a banana.

That is exactly what I used to do, I used to have my protein shake after working out and eat a banana. But then there were tons of people saying that food takes too long to digest so I should invest in some liquid form of carbs. Also, does anybody know if the trueprotein forum will be back up or is it gone totally. I tried to go to it, but all I got was the error page.

As long as you've eaten enough before the workout, the banana and protein should be fine. Then eat a normal meal in a while.
The problem is that there are a ton of articles on the importance of liquid pwo nutrition. Try to find one that says liquid nutrition with high GI carbs isn't that important. You can't (at least I can't). I was finally convinced by reading Alan Aragon's Research Reviews. He covered OTHER studies than all the ones used to promote the liquid/high gi and protein pwo nutrition.
I don't think it's bad to use that stuff, it's just not all that necessary when you're eating enough food before and after a workout. I keep some premeasured powders in my gym bag, in case I haven't eaten recently or know I won't be eating soon enough after my workout. But, that's rare.

Nah!
Milk has carbs, though the galactose is better at replenishing liver glycogen. I also use instant oats, plain, and dex/malt, for sweetness, and some herchey's syrup, but most of my carbs come non-dex sources.
Amd what LD said, you'll have plenty of AAs, BCAAs and glycogen floating around in your blood by the time you workout, it's not essential to use dex or malt.
