Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
Depends on the cheese you get, and what you need from it. If you're looking to add a little fat and protein, and the product doesn't have a lot of unhealthy "junk" added to it, then it can be great. I particularly like the "Frigo Light String Cheese" and tend to use those to balance out high carb fruit.
Depends on what you call "cheese." I like cheese. Fat, protein... what's not to like?
As far as I'm concerned: CheezWhiz and Velveeta =/= cheese.

Just had some pan melted mozzarella with a sprinkle of parmesean and cheddar. For desert I had brie.
and some asparagus cold from the fridge.
some people have trouble digesting it and others say it makes them bloated and causes allergies. If you don't have that, what's not to love about cheese.
What the link between cheese and b/o? I never heard of that one before.
I never go with any diet or plan that cuts out an entire food group. Unless you have allergies or a specific reaction to a food anything is ok in moderation.
The BO thing is totally anecdotal. I'll see if I can find some supporting literature, but I ditched dairy for two weeks while on a study abroad and stopped smelling badly (confirmed by others with me on the trip).

Oh, so that's BO :body odo(u)r
Cheese tastes great and if you can digest it well and not have allergies, go for it.
The only unfortunate part is that the best tasting cheese is the most calorific.
Also, it tastes so damn good that it's a trigger food for me, probably also due to an allergy for dairy.
I also love cheese, but like you, I'm afraid I need to cut it out of my diet. Since I try to eat low cards, it's so hard to give up the cheese since it one of the good things I do get to eat. I always hear mixed opinions so for now I've just cut back. Don't think I can live a cheese-free life. If you deprive yourself of all the things you like, you'll go crazy and probably enter into pig-out mode. That's what I do anyway.

Cheese is zero carbs. String cheese has one of the best protein to fat ratios, cream cheese one of the worst. However, both are zero carbs.

But the reason I feel I need to cut back is because of the fat. I just eat too much of it general, but I didn't realize string cheese was that healthy. That might be a good snack option fo me. Thanks!

You are trying to reduce fat on a low carb diet? Can I ask why?

You don't want to cut the fat. The fat gives a feeling of fullness. You'll likely be eating less cals anyway on a low-carb diet because you'll be satiated sooner and longer than on a low-fat diet.
It depends on how high/low maintenance is and/or how low you want to go for cutting.
If cheese wasn't an allergenic food for me, I'd eat it more often (though I still eat it frequently enough), but would still look for somewhat lower fat cheese if I'd want to eat more of it. PLUS eat smaller amounts of the yummiest high fat cheeses for e.g. late night treats. It's all about making choices.
I do suppose it's related to cheese being an allergen, but for me, cheese = trigger food. E.g. it makes me eat more than I intend to.
Fat is NOT satiating short term and it's amazingly easy to overeat on cheese alone.
Protein is satiating short-term. And fat is satiating long-term. The combination of both = da bomb for good short- & long-term satiation.
