Default increasing calories??

Hey guys i was wondering, i am starting to increase my caloriic intake for strength/size increases and wanted to know how much should i increase it by week. i went from having 3 pretty good sized meals (but not enough total net calories for the day) last week, to having the same meals but with snacks in between. i feel full and don't know how you guys do it. i tried one extra snack one day and two the next and it is really hard. should i decrease the size of my main three meals?

It takes time to adjust. Try bumping up your daily calories by 200-250. Stick with this for a week. bump again.

I'm hungriest right after wieght training. That's a good time to have an extra snack. In another hour, it's like I never had it.

Agreed, right after lifting is when I always feel the hungriest. Try tossing something extra in here, maybe a glass of milk.

Breakfast is also a good time for me to add food when needed.

Ok, as a guy who has always had to be careful not to eat too much, I am really wracking my brain to come up with a snotty, clever, holier-than-thou remark to this, but I just can't come up with anything ... So all I'll say is "I wish ... "

a simple trick that helped me get in more cals..

eat more fats.

a gram of carbs is 4cals.
a gram of fat is 9cals.

a few tablespoons of peanutbutter or a couple shots of oil.. you can rapidly increase cals.

Try a protein shake, throw some Ice cream in and enjoy your calories!!! But seriously a couple of protien shakes should help your protein and up your calories, especially if you use milk.

I'll second Brian there - - I'm doing 6 meals a day, but it's in order to lose. Does this mean if I keep following the training program I could get to the point of not eating enough?

I have learned to do cytogainers 2-3 times a day. If you do these with milk it is an 800 cal meal that you can gulp down in no time. It took me about 2 months to work up from 1400 kcals a day to 2800 kcals a day. I did it at about 200 kcals a week. That is all I could stomach (literally) at a time without loosing quality of life.
