Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
I'm approaching the end of two weeks on TNT and the scale has not moved. I am following the book and have even posted my diet on here several times. I am training REALLY hard on NROL and I can't figure out what is wrong.
I can tell there has been a little water loss in my upper body but that's really it.
Any thoughts? I am eating eggs for BF, salad with steak for lunch, parm crisps for snacks, chicken, protein shakes....
what am I doing wrong? I am getting discouraged.
I'd be happy getting to 180 (10 lb loss), but it just wont budge.
It may not be what you want to hear, but losing inches is much better than losing weight. If you are noticing positive changes in your body, then it's working.

I'm OK with that, but I'm just not seeing changes really only a little water loss up top. I've heard people on here saying they've lost 15v pounds, ten pounds, etc....
Nothing is really happening for me and I don' know what else to do.

UGH!
Check out what I bolded.
Like others in this thread have mentioned, you're way too focused on net pounds. Without a doubt, you're trading away fat mass for lean mass at an even rate.
Also, 10-15 lbs lost in 2 weeks is only possible for obese newbies who have never dieted before, or obese folks coming off of a very long layoff from training/diet. I doubt you fall into one of those groups. And keep in mind that for non-obese people, noticable/visible progress happens every 1-2 months, and lean folks are lucky to see visible bodyfat changes every 3-4 months.
So what should you do? Let me suggest for you to find someone who will hide your scale from you or throw it in a faraway dumpster.
I know you were drinking way too much alcohol, so that could be it. We also told you your fat was too low and on some days you had too many carbs. Look back thru those threads and re-read the advice we gave you.
Really do the plan as it was intended and see what happens.
I had a hard time shaking out my diet the first week. After the second week I started seeing/feeling results. So even though technically I have been on the plan A for 3 weeks, I only count it as two, since the first week I had some things in my diet that shouldn't have been.
Also, like everyone else said, put the scale away. Are you working out? Muscle weighs more than fat. This diet is designed to get rid of fat and add muscle. Let the mirror be your guide to success and not the scale.
I struggled the first couple weeks, but this week I have felt great and the pants are getting loose. The scale doesn't reflect the changes I feel in my body either. Maybe write down a food journal, maybe you have some secret sugars and starches you aren't aware of.
You are all right! I will ditch the scale (I almost went out and bought one that measures body fat as well just to see some changes.)
I will 86 that idea and get a measuring tape instead.
I haven't been drinking the wine like I was. I've actually had the flu the past 3 days and it is kicking my a$$. I've managed to eat steak and salad and eat whole eggs.
i've had a fever of 101.3 for 2 days. I have this CARB SMART vanilla icecream that (4net carbs per 1/2cup) that has been my savior during this fever. I wake up, grab a couple spoons and it cools my body temp from teh inside (or so I think).
I'd say it's the closest thing to cheating I've had in these two weeks .
And yes, I am training WAY TOO hard! I can barely breath (I'm in FL3) right now, week 4 and it is killing me. I don't miss my workouts until now with this flu. Today will be the first day I miss.
I am always an impatient person so that's part of my prob as well. I will chill out and get that measuring tape. I wrote down my original measurements somewhere.
I havn't read tnt.. but is something like low carb ice cream allowed? To my understanding tnt was kind of a 'meat and veggies' type plan with few processed foods.

It's not disallowed per se but discouraged. The TNT ideal is definitely all whole foods.
Yeah...I know that. I bought the low carb ice cream becasue I was so sick and feverish. I really couldn't eat any of the comfort foods I would normally eat when this sick, so I found this and ate a coulple spoonfulls for two days- that's all.
My fever was so high, I think it enhanced he taste of the icecream which was oh so good. The first really sweet thing I've had in two weeks.
Im done with the ice cream now- fever is gone and I'm feeling better. It was definitely a comfort food and I'm not even a big ice cream person.
It's been a whie since I've posted, but that's cuz I've been soo busy! I have FINALLY begun to see BIG changes in my body composition and muscularity.
i've been on NROL and TNT now for 4 and 2 months respectively and now I am reaping the benefits. I was so ipatient before but suddenly it just happened. I couldn't be happier and this way of life isn't hard for me to do. Here's what I figured out:
1) I wasn't doing NROL correctly. Once I GOT it, things changes ( I wasn't doing the right rep sets, etc)
2) Once I got to 1.5 months of no major carbs, I was no longer even interested in carbs, even when I allowed myself to eat them. For dad's bday dinner I finally ordered a baked potato. I had two bits of it, which satisfied me and that was it.
So, I am really pleased with how things are going and will try to get some pics up soon.
THanks to everyone for always taking my questions and being so patient with me when I was not!!!
