Default My First Cheat Meal is planned :-)

I am in my 3rd week of TNT and have been really good. No real blown days or meals, down 10 pounds. However this Friday I am going to a wine maker's dinner, Rodney Strong if interested :-), and I am planning on not holding back anything.

The menu for my cheat meal:
Dungeness Crab Cake baby artichoke and sea bean salad grainy mustard sauce
2006 Charlotte’s Home Sauvignon Blanc, Sonoma County

Gnocchi with Gorgonzola Cream
2005 Estate Chardonnay,

Chalk Hill Liberty Duck Breast apple and duck confit,
Alsace cabbage, truffle Périgueux sauce
2006 Estate Pinot Noir, Sonoma County
2004 Jane’s Vineyard Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley

Dry Aged New York Steak porcini mushroom-black pepper crust blue cheese potato gratin, cabernet glaze
2003 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley

Dark Chocolate Mocha Cheesecake cherry compote
Gentleman’s Port

So does anyone have any advice on any pre or post cheat tactics? I know I will probably cost myself a couple days of fat burning, but my wife and I have had this planned for some time.

Yup can't wait. However I am kinda nervous about undoing all my suffering over the past 2 weeks.

I wonder if there is anything I should do the next day for damage control?

If you've been strict on TNT-A and little to no alcohol - you might find it all going to your head much more quickly than you'd otherwise expect.

I'd just say drink plenty of water the next day to help flush things out.

Since you'll be filling up your glycogen stores with those carbs and holding water with the glycogen - don't be surprised if your weight spikes back up.

Full glycogen makes me think a hard workout the next day with heavier weights than you are used to might be in order- just because you can.

Thank you Lisa, that is what I was looking for. The hotel we are staying at has a gym, I will be sure to hit the next day.

I noticed the lower alcohol tolerance on Easter too :-) Got a lot more mileage out of a couple glasses of wine.

Yes.

I would try to get a refill of the cab and skip the port with the cheesecake.

But that might be just a personal preference.

Enjoy.

That is my plan Mark. I am not a desert person, nor a port person. Last one we attended I had one bite of the desert and none of the port :-)

That cheat meal sounds soooo worth it! After reading that I'll scold myself whenever I crave some dumb old slice of bread again! LOL

So I survived the weekend, no glycemic coma. Actually, it wasn't that much of a slam of carbs.

The crab cake was nice suprise. It was solid shredded crab, that had a light layer of bread crumbs on the top and bottom. I think I will try doing the same thing, but using minced nuts instead of bread crumbs.

I noticed myself subconsciously avoiding the carbs though :-) I only had two bites of the gnochi and skipped it. After that, the carb intake wasn't too bad. However, the copious amounts of wine probably didn't help things.

I did notice, I felt pretty bloated the next night. I haven't had that feeling once since being on TNT. It definitely set me back a couple days. It was a nice vacation though.

Then I come into work this morning and the kitchen is loaded with donuts and easter candy that people brought in. I fired off my a primal scream of my new motto "MEAT AND CHEESE" and marched out empty handed though. Vacation is over.
