A bunch of chocolate... willpower... what would you do?
OK, my wife & I had a family wedding shower for her cousin. Her sister was bringing a pound cake so my wife asked me to make a chocolate sauce that I make about once a year for my daugther. The chocolate sauce recipe is from Julia Child's "The Way to Cook," so it's the real thing -- chocolate, corn syrup, sugar, cocoa, chocolate squares, butter (1 1/2 sticks!), heavy cream, vanilla, etc. It is served warm or hot. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but it is unbelieveable.
I doubled the recipe, which was a mistake. Only about half got eaten, so I have 2-3 cups of this incredible chocolate sauce. My wife has gone to China for a week and my kids are away at college, so it's just me and the cat here. Do I just throw it out, save a little to eat and throw most of it out, or what??? I'm totally serious, what would everyone here do?
Freeze half of it and eat the other half, so you won't regret it when it's not good for freezing.
Compensate for the calories elsewhere/another day. Life is full of compromises.
Or.. give it away to someone you know who'd appreciate it, if you want to be slimmer more badly. But just don't throw it away okay? Not if it is that good at least.
I don't think freezing it will matter that much. Cream is in icecream, some people freeze butter.
I had a cookie cake left over from DD bday. I was not tempted then all of a sudden I was eating lot's of it. I ran it to the freezer since I could not bear to throw it away!
I make candy for christmas. I throw it away when there is some left. It is not worth it for me, miss chocolate tooth
