Cool Newbie to TNT- just making sure of a few things

Hi. I've read the book and have gone 3 days now without eating carbs, aside from what's in celery, or lettuce, etc. I can't believe I've done this.

I feel like I've been eating poorly (parmesean crisps, steak with A1, cheese, celery with cream cheese, wine, scallops in butter/garlic.

Am I really gonna lose weight like this??

How long does it take before I start burning fat- when will I know if I'm in ketosis if I dont' have the strips?

Where can I get the strips?

OK...thanks in advance. i just feel like I'm eating like a pig on BAD stuff and not going in the right direction and it's only day 3 entering into day 4 in 12 hours.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Here we go!

You can get ketosis strips at the drugstore, but you don't need to be in Ketosis all the time on TNT, necessarily.

Give it 4 weeks, as the book said for Plan A. You'll drop a ton of water at first. My fat loss is averaging 1 to 1.5 lbs per week.

Default so missjane...

All this stuff I'm listing here as my food intake is fine? I mean, last night I ate grilled shrimp skewers (8 shrimp in total) probably whisked in butter on the grill.

Just now I ate raw cauli with a couple tbsp of french onion dip ( 2 carbs per tbsp).

I'm about to make scallops sauteed in butter and garlic.

Are you sure these things are OK to be eating? It just feels wrong like it goes against everything I know. (old concepts are hard to break)

Basically, I can eat anything I want as long as there's no bread, rice, starch? Because let me tell you my fear:

I will eat all the steak, shrimp, mussles in butter, garlic, celery and cream cheese, parm crisps till Im content and be afraid I am gaining wait the whole time.

Are you saying it will take 4 weeks before I start to see a change? That seems like a long time to wait for a couple pounds to come off- no?

check on the cheese - there could be a limit (don't have my book here)
also - I don't think nuts are unlimited - check on those as well.

be sure to eat veggies - broccoli, asparagus, peppers, zucchini, greens, and plenty of them.

Nuts are limited to 2 servings per day.
Watch the shellfish too - some have carbs in them (mussels, clams & oysters are the main culprits; I believe shrimp are A-OK).

And, you will lose weight as long as you continue a calorie deficit. Both my boyfriend and I just finished week 4 and, while we did see results, they weren't dramatic so we suspect calorie overload. It's easy to do when you're eating a lot of fat so just keep that in mind.

OK, so here's the thing...

i HATE veggies. i've taken a vegie supp fo a few months becasue I simply don't eat them. Today I made the steamed brocc with butter and garlic....I hope that was OK.

So, I didn't see anything about limiting the amount of cheese- does anyone know where in the book it mentions that? I will look again.

As for the nutes- I know it did say 2 servings and I think I can stay within that.

Here is what I'm trying to say-

I am not counting calories rather I am ensuring I am eating no obvious carbs like bread, rice, potato, starch, sugar, etc.

Is the book saying that just by doing that alone and taking in protein at each major meal and in shakes, that i can lose the weight? (I love how I typod WAIT in my last post- Christ!)

Anyway, I don't want to oversimplify it, but that's what I am taking from the book and I don't wanna go down the wrong path.

In my head, as long as I'm not eating bread and pasta (which is what I do every night at like 5pm with a bottle of wine, I am OK. I am ok eating steak, butter, turkey, cheese, etc.

Am I on the right path here? Or do I need to re-read?

Thanks, H

I don't have my book here (lent it out) - so it may be that I'm confounding Adam's Diet with TNT-A on the cheese front.

TNT is made to be simple....BUT, you can GORGE yourself. Nothing is going to change the fact that to lose weight you need a calorie deficit. However, by eating protein and fat dense foods, your appetite should be satisfied more readily.

You will lose water weight at first and then settle in to about 1 to 1 1/2 lbs of loss a week. If you aren't losing, you may be one of the people who needs to see exactly how many calories they are eating and adjust.

This isn't a 'quick-fix' diet, it's a lifestyle change...a new way of eating.

I am planning to start TNT soon and I know what you're saying, it seems too good to be true. One of the guidelines from the book is to eat until you are satisfied, not stuffed, which is very important I think in controlling cals and is going to be a challenge for me.

Right! I am eating until I am satisfied so far. I did eat 2 of those parm crisps...I couldn't believe we are allowed to eat them it was soooooo delish!

I will just continue what I'm doing and re-read the chapter. I'm just thinking too, "this is too good to be true that I can eat all this fat and stuff and lose weight" just like leah said.

I don' see how I am getting a calorie deficit. Maybe I will post exactly what I'm eating to see if you think I am on the right track....

must be later though, I'm on my way to the gym for am workout! FL3, YAY!!!!!

Thanks, H
