Default Supplement help

I'm about to purchase some more protien powder soon, and I was wondering what flavor of Musclemilk people thought was the best?
The only flavor I have had was cookies n'creme and it was damn good.

Also, I know there is a lot of talk about TrueProtien, but has anybody tried Nitrean lately from Atlargenutrition? I have read some about it as well....any thoughts on their flavors?

Muscle Milk is not a good protein option. It's over priced, contains fat which you cannot remove from the mix making it a poor PWO drink, and contains carcinogens.

I've heard Nitrean is good. I think missjane favors it.

Nitrean is very good. The vanilla has a french vanilla/cream taste to it. It mixes very easily and I never noticed any bloated or gassy feelings with it. It is a milk protein blend too which is good. Also the owner, Chris, I believe is a really good guy and will answer any questions you have.

I recently purchased some protein from trueprotein though, nothing against the Nitrean, I just like to switch my protein powers up every so often and I've been using Nitrean since last summer. It is definitely a good buy, IMO.

I believe they've removed glycocyamine from MM now. And if he just wants protein, he can go with EvoPro from the makers of Muscle Milk. I've heard it tastes pretty similar to MM but doesn't have nearly the fat.

No argument on the price. It's definitely expensive.

Ok, I thought that was with MM Lite only.

I think Lite was launched without GCC ever in it, as were the ready-to-drink protein shakes. GCC was pulled from Muscle Milk in the middle of last year. T-Nation never updated their article denouncing it or even added a comment to the article's forum discussion.

I think the benefits of one brand of protein over another are ultimately pretty limited. Within your chosen type of protein (whey, casein, milk, whey isolate, soy, rice...) just go for price, taste, mixability, and lack of artificial/odd ingredients. Leave the manufacturer claims of superior whatever behind.

I'll always be a Muscle Milk fan. I've never seen any negative affects because of the fat content, although I really only drank it in the evening as a snack, or put a scoop in my morning oatmeal.
Cookies N Creme is good, Blueberries N Creme is to die for.

Evopro is very good, too, and closer to a typical protein powder (less carbs and fat).

I take all of this negative criticism with a grain of salt. It seems like 3-4 years ago, MM was considered the $hit, now people say it has this and that in it, and is terrible for you. Everything seems to work that way.....I completely expect something like Metabolic Drive (or any one of the highly regarded supplements) to take a dive in the near future, and everyone will jump to the next greatest thing.

I love trueprotein, and think their flavors are very good, and their customer service is great.

I just heard muscle milk came out with a cake batter and brownie batter flavor though. I'm itching to try these! yummmmmm....

Alco, what type of mix of trueprotein do you build? I looked through last week, that stuff looks sweet, but man, it's pricey! But, I guess I should expect that for the customization you get.

thanks for the info guys,

I was mainly looking for a protien to mix in with my yogurt/cottage cheese, and shakes I make sometimes. But also i was goin to buy some regular whey for when I make my own pwo shakes as well....I still have quite a bit of surge to use first.

As far as the MM goes, I believe that it's safe....it just has added fat to it.
I ordered Muscle Milk in Peanutbutter chocolate, and some vanilla nitrean....I hope it's good. I'll post back later with an update!

hey,

i usually just get some whey concentrate, and use the premium flavors (i love orange cream, vanilla PREMIUM, and strawberry and cream). It's around the same price as ON, but they taste a lot better.

If you customize, you can pretty much pick whatever you want according to what you want it for, but i think concentrate is a pretty universal protein for the price...

The "team skip" and "dante's blend" are supposedly very tasty but i haven't tried them. They're under the premix formulas section. I'm going to try the dante's blend next, and then try the team skip after that.
