Default Gatorade Post work out shake

When I used to visit this site, a lot of people used powdered gatorade adn protein as a post workout shake. Is this still a good cheap mix? Seems like a lot of sugar if your are trying to lose weight? Opinions?

Nothing wrong with it. When you say "a lot of sugar", it depends. First of all, how many scoops are taking? One scoop (is it 15-20g?) isn't all that much. 3 scoops is pretty significant.

All of that aside, how does it fit into your daily totals? Even if you had 3 scoops, if you're still eating at a caloric deficit, then it doesn't matter too much. If you're doing a low carb plan, then you may need to work around it. Still, if you save your carbs for workout time, you should have no problem with it.

It's really all relative to your size, nutritional plan and goals.

I'm still at a caloric difference. I am using around 50 grams per shake.

The general recommendation from what I have read is .8g/kg body mass for carbs and .4g/kg body mass for protein. I currently use orange gatorade with vanilla whey. It's certainly sweet but its pretty tasty. However, I am using it for weight gain, so like Ian said "It's really all relative to your size, nutritional plans and goals."
