Default need TNT calory and cal % help!

hi, all ... okay, here's the situation, based on my attempting the TNT diet:

Average Calories for past 4 days
..............grams...cals.... .%total
Total:.................1623
Fat:..........101......911.... ..57%
Carbs: ...... 28......100........6%
Protein:.....146.....586...... .37%

Yesterday's individual intake is fairly representative, though I did manage to up caloric intake to about 1800: 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 1 big can white meat chicken, 2 T mayo, 1 oz almonds, 1 medium steak, 2 cheese sticks, a salad, and a protein shake (one scoop). The percentage caloric split for this one day is: 56% fat, 41% protein and 2% carbs.

I am 53 and weigh 170 (skinny but flabby), 6' tall. I figure I need to be eating about 2500 calories to maintain that weight ... so I'm about 800 calories short a day. Also: According to the MH TNT forum, the caloric split should ideally be around 60% fat, 30% protein, and 10% carbs (on Plan A non-workout days) ... so, it seems to me I'm getting too much protein and not enough fat.

What I need help with is figuring out an easyish way to get more calories and at the same time get my fat-to-protein percentages more into alignment. I mean, I never feel hungry at the end of the day and, before I started using fitday, I thought I was doing pretty good, calory wise. But maybe I'm not ... unless I'm looking at this all wrong.

Little help, please? Thanks!

Have you tried TNT without counting all this stuff? You don't really have to. The macros aren't all that critical and in the best scenario, you'd eat right about the right amounts, naturally.

You CAN count, but I encourage everyone to try it for a few weeks without counting, to see what happens.

And, your macros are just fine, anyway. 57 vs 60 is nothing? If you were 40% fat, we'd talk.

The TNT/MH forum people are too anal. A lot of them think you're supposed to be in ketosis, too. You don't need to be. They make more of the diet than it is...

hey, thanks for the response, ld!
yup, i've done TNT without counting, for about 6 weeks. i just started counting for the hell of it, to see where i stood more accurately. i don't think i really need to count, because the results have been exactly what i wanted. but on the theory that better is better, i decided to do the fitday thing.
maybe i'm about okay where i am and, as you say, shouldn't get overly anal about it.

on an unrelated note: do you know if creatine goes bad? in other words, i bought some a while ago and now i see that it the so-called expiration date was last july. think it really means anything?

You say "anal" like it's a bad thing.

(I'm still learning how to let go myself, Linter.)
