Default Having the Flu & Doing TNT

Has anyone tried to do TNT and had the flu at the same time? I have been home sick for the last three days. I have been sticking to TNT by eating only jello, diet ginger ale and I did have some ground beef with cheese yesterday. The issue is I realized that the neo citran I have been guzzling (4 servings) over the weekend is full of sugar. Is this going to make me gain fat? I have noticed the scale is up 3 pounds but I figure its all glycogen from the sugar. I have read somewhere that ingesting high amounts of sugar and fat will make your body produce or hold on to fat. Any comments?

Depends. If you have the REAL flu, which is an upper respiratory thing, then I think you can adhere. I was able to at the beginning of the year.

However, if you really have a stomach virus, then it will be close to impossible (as I discovered last week).

Bottom line....when you are sick, do what you need to get better and forget about the scale. When you are back to normal, continue on with your program.

Missjane, as always you are a wealth of information. I definitely do not have a stomach bug. I am just not that hungry at all and forcing myself to eat and that is why I am sticking with TNT compliant foods. It is definitely a flu with a fever and a wicked cough. I am a big disappointed with catching this bug because I was almost finished Phase 1 of NROLW. I only have four sessions of each of WOA and B left. I am going to plod along with the rest of the program starting tomorrow. I am also doing a 10 k running program on top of it which I haven't been able to do for four days. I am on a mission and I hate detours.

Thanks again for the reply.

Best to take care of yourself now so you can come back strong. It's been a bad winter for sickness and most of us haven't been able to avoid catching something. Give yourself the time to heal and then you will be back at it before you know it.

I noticed that I seemed to get the flu more when I was doing TNT than any other nutrition plan. Granted, it was flu season, but I don't remember ever being sick over and over as much as this past winter when I did TNT. It got so bad that I decided to switch to a more moderate carb approach eating more fruits and I haven't gotten sick since. Not to say that it was TNT's fault, but just something that I noticed within myself. Just my two cents worth.
