Splenda
I have a question I know that some artifical sweeteners(sweet and low, etc...) are cancer causing. Would Splenda be put into that category???? Because I noticed that alot of the TNT recipes and others contain Splenda.

No.
Recent tests on Sweet & Low (saccharin) do not establish a link between it & cancer. And the resulting cancer that happened on rats in the 70s is specific to rats, anyway. The same results would not happen in humans so the test results don't really apply to us peoples. Besides, do you really get your health information via tests from the 70s?

If Splenda caused cancer I'd already be dead.

Same with saccharin, I'd already be dead from rat cancer. I use it all the time because it desolves so easily in ice tea.

But I wouldn't give it to your pet rats in high doses, just to be safe.

seriously? bc my pet rat loves the stuff. i cut a few lines of sweet and low for him so he can run faster on his wheel. when i don't fork over the powder he gets shaky and violent and then and goes to try to rob other rats for money to get his fix. now i have to worry about him getting cancer?

Maybe it's not a worry? Maybe his calling is to burn bright and go out fast, like River Phoenix or an explosive fart.

Rather than worry about putting something artificial in your body, why not use Stevia?

because natural does not equal good.
Plenty of natural poisons in the world.
because there is an absolute tonne of evidence and studies supporting supporting artifical sweetners, aspartame in particular.
Stevia may be good, but it is largely untested at this time.
because Stevia may be sweet, but it does not taste like sugar.

there are plenty against too. Did you know aspartame was denied as safe by the FDA 8 times? Some say due to money is the only reason it passed..but really 8 TIMES they said it was absolutely unsafe for human consumption.
I don't use a lot of sugar but Stevia is a great alternative when i want some in tea etc...
I have drastically changed my diet to vegan and its all about changing your mind. Soy cheese is what cheese tastes like now and Chik'n is what chicken tastes like now...

Bliss, you agreed that you shouldn't put artificial things in your body, then mentioned eating Chik'n?

Stevia tastes funny. It's not bad, but it doesn't go in everything well.
I've got a jar with over 1000 servings left in it! 1000! On the plus side, it's a very small jar.

For what it is worth, Splenda causes ME to have mini-seizures, panic attacks, headaches, and sycopal episodes. Very weird stuff for my body to handle. I quit using aspartame even though I had no obvious effects simply because of my reactions to Splenda. Oddly, my sister cannot use aspartame - causes migraines! It obviously does not do this with the majority and I hate that it has that affect on me, but oh well, I have experimented time and time again and it is always the same.I have to be very careful because even cough medicines, mouthwash and toothpaste now have sucralose in them! I have gotten used to Stevia and I do use Sugar Twin, although I worry about the long term effects it. I hope to get to a point where I quit the Sugar Twin. So anyway, just my personal experience with Splenda and how it affects me (took me a while to figure it out!)
