Post workout protein
I'm so new to this so please excuse my newbie questions.
For post workout, sometimes I'm starving and other times I can't even think about eating.
When I need to eat NOW, I'll make a sandwich... tuna, roast beef or turkey with a slice of cheese some lettuce and onion on whole wheat bread.
When I know I should eat but don't find the appeal of a sandwich I'll make a smoothie with yogurt, oj, blueberries, strawberries (banana once in a while)
Are these post workout meals enough?
Here comes another question.. don't laugh... I'm afraid of buying a whey powder supplement because I don't know exactly what to look for and I get paranoid (sometimes) when I add a powder. I don't know if what it says it is- really is it.
Any ideas?

Post workout, I always have a protein shake on the drive home. It is good to get protein in your system as soon after your workout as you can. Your meals look good...I would seriously think about going the protein shake route though. I personally use Muscle Milk Light...tastes just like a milkshake.

Would I 'add' a shake to what I'm already eating after a workout or substitute what I eat for the shake?

If you're content with eating the sandwich, then keep doing that. The meat in it has your protein and the bread has your carbs.
For the smoothie, I would consider adding some whey protein. For the most part (standard disclaimer...) whey proteins are the same except for taste and price. Check the back of the tub if you're worried about ingredients. I use EAS protein which I think has 1-2g carb, ~20g protein, and maybe 1-2g of fat as well.

-peanut butter (fats)
- beer (carbs)
...at least that's what my hubby thinks ))))))
seriously though, here's John Berardi's article on the subject.

Thank you for the link.
In this article I read this:
A whole food recovery meal 12 oz of skim milk + 1 serving Vector - (358 calories) - 18g protein, 65g Carbohydrate, 2.8g Fat
What is Vector?

What's your vector, Victor?
I think Vector was a "recovery" cereal. Like Surge, but a breakfasty cereal of carbs and protein.
Your food options seem just fine.
