Default This is probably a dumb question (whey).....

I’m new to the whole diet fitness thing. I am doing the TNT diet on plan E. I am not trying to lose weight but gain more muscle and just be healthier all around. I am 29 years old, 6’0 about 170 pounds. I work out about 3 times a week and run / play basketball 2 days a week. I eat a lot of protein throughout the day, beef, chicken, fish and tuna. What I have been doing since I started the TNT diet is eating a tuna sandwich or turkey sandwich on whole wheat, 45 minutes before I lift. Then I eat a fat burning meal (protein and fat, no carbs) within an hour after working out. I feel my self getting stronger but just don’t know about the whey thing. I am not trying to get huge, just stronger and more toned (a little bigger muscles wouldn’t hurt ). Do you guys think I should be using whey right after my workout? Thanks!!

Yes..taking a whey protein shake isn't gonna add 60 lbs. to your frame and get you "huge". It's not a must but it can definitely help.

Whey is just a milk by-product. It is comprised mostly of protein and therefore can be any easy way to get more if you want. It has no magical abilities to make you big despite the marketing around it. Treat it like you would any other high protein food in your diet.

If you're getting enough protein, then whey isn't anything that you need to worry about.

One serving of the stuff that I use is 120 calories. So having one of those a day isn't going to make you balloon up (assuming your aren't eating a bunch of crazy stuff).
