20 Worst Foods in America (according to Men's Health)
I mentioned reading this article in the thread on the TNT diet.
Scary stuff!
Quote:
1. The Worst Food in America
Outback Steakhouse Aussie Cheese Fries with Ranch Dressing

2,900 calories
182 g fat 240 g carbs
Even if you split this "starter" with three friends, you'll have downed a dinner's worth of calories before your entree arrives. Follow this up with a steak, sides, and a dessert and you could easily break the 3,500 calorie barrier.
Front-load: Start your meal with a protein-based dish that's not deep-fried. A high-protein starter helps diminish hunger without putting you into calorie overload. At Outback, that translates to either the Seared Ahi or the Shrimp on the Barbie.

I LOVE THOSE!
I understand what you're saying Dave, but I see like this: when I go out with friends or family to spend some quality time (which is not often), I don't care about the calories, the fat or the carbs. I'll drink beer and wine and have ice cream to top it off.
You'll burn it off in the workout anyway.

I do too. I'm currently in cutback mode, so this kind of stuff interests me. You could easily erase several days of a moderate calorie reduction by having a meal at one of these places given that the foods are extraordinarily high in calories.

Yeah, maybe about 4 or 5 workouts!

Shared among five people, that's about 600cals/head. Not terrible in my book. Terrible would be one person eating all that!
The only thing better than Outback's cheese fries is their frickin' shrimp on the barbie...ohhhh, so good.

I think Shrimp on the Barbie was one of the recommended appetizers!
I know I rack up a huge calorie tab at the chain restaurants, because I almost always have beer, shared appetizer, salad, bread, entree, and dessert.

If I'm not too hungry, shrimp on the barbie and seared ahi for dinner. If I feel like a steak then skip the appetizer and order the small sirloin. But I have no problem making a meal of the shrimp there. Mmmmm
I'm sure those cheese fries are tasty, but I've never ordered them. Once I tasted one you'd have to pry my cold, dead fingers off the platter. I can't stop eating stuff like that, if I ever moved to Canada I'd probably live on (and die from) poutine.

Having looked at it, I suspect poutine has a lot of calories.
French fries with fresh cheese curds and a chicken gravy over it...yeah, that's Canada's heart stopper special.
The article only covered US American artery cloggers, not North American cloggers.

Whats worse is in Quebec (maybe other places but I only know of in Quebec) you can get a poutine instead of fries with your combo at McDonalds. You know, incase you felt the need to add another thousand calories or so to your meal.
