Default Greens to Go

Anyone use Greens to Go? Know about them? What do you have to say? Know of another source via mail with a better price?

Roland mentioned them in another topic. Followed the link and they caught my attention. I'd have to get them in the mail; I've not seem them locally, but I should check the co-op.

I'm eating a fair amount of veggies. I'm just curious if I would notice any effects from an additional "super blend" each day, or at least days when I eat less veggies.

I dunno about this one. Looks kinda similar to the Greens+, in that it's chief ingredients aren't all that hot: barley grass and chlorella. Even the next few ingredients (aloe vera, marigold, etc.) aren't high on my list. All the good stuff - or at least, all the stuff that reflects typical dietary "greens", are further down the list, in smaller amounts.

Then you have the Xylitol and "Supersorb" (not exactly sure what that is) for flavoring... I'd pass.

Thanks, Ian. A more thoughtful analysis that I could do. But, it must get all of its high powered stuff from somewhere. Maybe the "filler" (e.g. barley grass?) is for fiber?

What about it makes you believe there is anything in there that's "high powered"? I'm not arguing, just wondering. Looking at the ingredients and nutritional facts - per serving - I don't see anything very powerful. Each serving has less than 1g of fiber, and even the vitamins and minerals aren't overly impressive.

I still don't think there's a product out there that can match a homemade "supershake" (for nutrient value or price) with something like spinach, avocado, berries, banana, apple, etc. Then you steam up some broccoli or asparagus when you have a little more time at the end of the day.

I dunno... I've become more and more disillusioned with any pre-packaged "health" products.

I currently am eating about 400 grams of veggies each day, generally including some combination of broccoli, cauliflower, spinach/collards/kale, green beans, and carrots. I'm probably as set a one can be.

Personally, I stopped using all sorts of supplements awhile back, after I got my Juicer. Now all I do is go to the store and buy all kinds of fresh produce, and after some experementation, voila, awesome drinks, especially first thing in the morning

You're eating that much veggies and you're thinking about greens? Mister, you're going to sprout shoots if you're not careful.

I'm interested in the idea of a home-made V-8 though. I know I do not eat enough vegetable matter, but a V-8 like drink might be good.
