Default OK, i need some good tasting whey

i'm soooo sick of ON whey. I don't think i can stomach another batch of it. I've basically been getting ON for like 3 years straight, and i'm so sick of it. What's a good tasting whey? I've used trueprotein before, and it was pretty decent, but i know that they had to evacuate their facility because of the fires in CA, so their shipments are delayed. So, what's good? Grow? I've used Muscle milk before, but i can't stomach it for some reason.

Designer was good.
I think the best I've had is American Whey. (I'm told that's the name, I'm assuming he's not messing with me.)

I usually use Cytosport's Complete Whey. I've only tried the vanilla.

Cytosport - Complete Whey Protein

It is made by the muscle milk people, though.

I haven't tried that many, but I had the plain GNC brand and I hated it. I just bought Beverly International Muscle Provider and I think it tastes good. It mixes easily with water without clumping and it didn't leave that funny taste in my mouth afterwards or give me protein burps.
It was pretty expensive though.

Before my supplement store stopped carrying it, I liked HDT Pro Blend 55, but just the chocolate flavor. Right now, I use an ISS protein blend, which isn't bad, but again, only chocolate.

You mean just whey, right? Not a mixed protein source? I love the taste of Metabolic Drive, but I've never tried the new Grow Whey.

I liked Champion Nutrition's Pure Whey chocolate flavor (never tried any of the other flavors). I thought Designer was totally nasty.

I like ON's whey too, so maybe our tastes might be similar.

Default Six Star Protein

I use Six Star Protein. It is great tasting and cheap. You can even buy it at Walmart.

I use EAS. You can get a 6 lb bag for like $28 at Sam's Club.

x2 The vanilla has a little chemical aftertaste but it's not bad. It mixes real easy and the price is right.

That's what I use. The vanilla's pretty good. The chocolate could use more chocolate flavor, but you can't beat the price.

1ts of cocoa has solved this for me with some other brands of protein powder. Its like 10cals and even has a gram of fiber in there

I am not really a fan of protien powders, I think I get plenty of protien in my diet.. and even if I dont, I dont notice much change in muscle growth / strength.

I vote for EAS vanilla also. Been getting it at Sam's for about a year now. Tastes excellent. The strawberry EAS is also pretty good.

I have had many differnet kinds, but when I recieved Personal Nutrition a while back as a gift, I ordered Metabolic Drive (the low carb version) from biotest. I must say that it's the best stuff I have ever had! I ordered Chocolate and Vanilla and Chocolate is the better of the two.

Metobolic Drive is a whey blend though, which is slower digesting, so it's better for incorporating into parts of meals(mixing in cottage cheese).

I'd still have to say that ON's Extreme chocolate or Rocky road is the best whey isolate I have had.
I was going to try EAS from Costco because it seemed like a very good deal, but didn't becasue I read that it had soy protien? Did I read the ingredients correctly?

My EAS doesn't have soy in it. Is it the 100% Whey version?

Yep. CostCo's EAS is "protein powder" not "whey protein." It has milk, egg, and soy proteins in it.

Wow, no one has mentioned evopro? It tastes like muscle milk without all the other stuff! We always keep chocolate, vanilla, and cookies & cream on hand. My wife is very finicky about her protein powders and loves (ok, maybe doesn't hate) it.

I'm currently happy with my Syntrax 5.0 Cookies and Cream (blend), EAS vanilla and chocolate (100% whey) -- and yes, it's the "cheap" stuff at Sam's Club, Optimum Nutrition Banana Cream & Creamy Vanilla (100% Casein). I'm doing the v-diet so taste is important, as is the casein. At the start I got a jug of PM Protein Chocolate from GNC. It's not bad, but now that I have the ON and Syntrax, it's not so good either!

Other than the EAS whey and the GNC junk, I bought mine from Bodybuilding.com. I googled for coupons and got 10% off plus if you don't take the free magazine offer (I didn't need Maxim so much) you can send in for 9.97 back AND I found a bonus where they are supposed to send you free lifting straps with your order if you request them (still looking for them). Oh, and if you hit $75(?) you get your choice of shaker bottle, tshirt or something else. Just a few hints to make ordering less expensive.

Biotest's Grow Whey is very bland but not at all bad tasting, just plain. It's also about half the cost of MD. I've had good luck mixing the two, using ten scoops of chocolate MD in a 5lb tub of Grow. This makes the MD go three times as far and makes the Grow drinkable.

is there anything wrong with the costco protein having all 3 types of protein. I have read conflicting reports on soy protein.

I like Wal-Mart's whey protein mixed with chocolate milk. Tastes great. Don't have a tub with me now but I believe it has some guy's arm on it. I'll get the name for you later (I ran out of it).

I am reading Adam's TNT Diet book and I am getting ready to start it. I found this thread because I was looking for opinions about protein. In TNT (page 80) they said one of the recommended products during the Muscle Building Protein only time zone was At Large Nutrition's NITREAN..

At Large Nutrition - Nitrean 4.6 lbs - Protein powder supplement.

Does anyone have any experience with this stuff? I was curious what people thought of the claims on their page (see link above) about how it is " It is superior to any whey-only powder" blah blah blah.

I was curious if anyone has tried it, how it tastes and if it was too expensive or not.

George, I will let you know, because I have Nitrean on the way, as we speak, coincidentally! And, I am NOT a shake person, so if I like it, anyone will! Should be here tomorrow.

Actually I have been using Nitrean since I posted that back in November and the vanilla version tastes pretty decent. Defiantly better than the "Designer Whey" I tried.

Well, UPS guy just left so I whipped one up in the blender. I used a couple ice cubes and maybe I needed a couple more and a bit less water. It's not as chocolately as I thought it would be, but I basically just opened wide and poured it in....didn't taste it too much. But, it was quick, easy, and painless....just what I was looking for. I'll give the vanilla a try next. I'll bet we could perk that vanilla up with something, too!

You can add a teaspoon of cocoa powder to the blender to give it a darker chocolate flavor.
