Default Denaturation

We all know that protein is very important in the daily diet, and most of us have to resort to a protein powder like "Any Whey" to supplement our intake. Unfortunately, I don't like the protein powders taste and I am losing my momentum on putting it in water or milk to drink.

I was reading about adding powder to recipe's for meal times to boost protein content, but some warnings existed that heating the proteins would denature them. I'm no biologist, but from my biology classes, I learned that denatured proteins were no longer functional, but the body could break them down and use the amino acids for other purposes and building other proteins. In fact, that's how I understood protein to be effectively used in the body in the first place.

With all that in mind, can the body use denature protein? Does cooking the powder ruin the benefits of the kind of protein taken, and how does that differ from cooking eggs and meat?

Thanks for any information on this topic!

Your digestive system is going to break down the proteins anyway. Any cooked protein is denatured - eggs, meat, etc.

No point adding anything here.

You don't need as much protein as you think so if you don't like protein powders here's a funny thought.....don't buy them. You can get everything you need from whole food if you so wish.
