hey everybody, I have a question concerning my current postworkout drink. Right now it consists of 20oz of skim milk and half a scoop of O.N. whey powder, consumed immediately after training. This gives me roughly a 1:1 ratio of carbs and protien. An hour or so later, I have a mainly PC meal.
I'm just wondering if I may hindering my progress not using a faster acting carb along with this mixture pwo? Does anybody else just use milk(unsweeted) as thier pwo carb source?
Don't want to start another milk debate here haha, I'm just curious about everybody's opinions?
BTW I'm currently on a slow bulk and I'm about to finish NROL H1.
well i'm gettin the cals i need, i'm just wondering if they are the right form or not i guess.
Another similar question with my pwo meal deals with fiberous carbs. If I have a lot of fiber my main carb, is this counterproductive? Like a high fiber cereal.
I may be over analyzing things here, but those are just two questions that have been bugging me for a while.

If you're getting enough cals, it really doesn't matter how fast or slow teh carbs are
As an anecdotal example, I used to be one of those people who would obsess over the perfect carb, or the perfect ratio. I would have something like a 300 cal "pwo shake"
Then, I decided to switch to real food. I would eat about 700 cals worth of cereal and milk, instead. I actually recovered better from workouts, even though the carbs were "slower"
So, make sure you get enough cals, and don't stress if they have the "perfect" GI.

Well said.
Although I would probably take a PWO shake if i could afford it(i know i can get it relatively cheap), and if i wasn\'t living with my parents.
I\'d take the shake right after, and have a full meal 30mins to 1 hour later.
But I don\'t think it would make much of a difference at all, all in your head lol!
