Default Rinsing foods to lower sodium

Will rinsing foods with water help lower the sodium content? Like crab meat and canned veggies? I am trying to watch my salt intake for a little while.

It will. Most canned veggies come in "no added salt" versions, too.

Why are you watching your salt intake?

Thanks LD. This is actually a follow up post from my sodium intake/ water weight question. I have a bunch of frozen crab and it has a hell of a lot of sodium in it. No other reason than that.

Ah. I missed that one. Here's my take. If you always eat a lot of salt, then your water weight won't fluctuate.

The thing with sea food is it naturally has a high sodium content as it comes from the sea. Rinsing crab meat won't reduce the sodium much I wouldn't think.
