Default Eating & Sweating!

Why does this happen?

I haven't fully tracked it, but it seems to be worst with a big slab of protein. I remember taking a cold chicken breast (cooked) from the fridge and chowing down. Within 10 minutes, I was sweating.

On the day of or day after a really hard weightlifting workout, it seems to be even worse.

Anyone?

Now, if you'll excuse me, I just had a big salad of shrimp, squid, and octopus and need to go wipe my brow.

Squid and octopus are pretty chewy - maybe you are working that jaw pretty hard.

Tabasco Sauce does it to me.

Thermogenic effect of food is highest for protein. I've been wondering for a while whether I was totally oblivious to this effect in the past when I wasn't yet lifting, but no. Just never used to happen. Not even sweating when exercising (cycling) really fast.

Hot & spicy foods also bring out the sweat beads. This explains the popularity of spicy food in the Tropics as sweat = natural A/C.

metabolism = chemical reactions taking place = breaking down food = chemical reaction
higher metabolism = more body heat = greater need for cooling

If you eat something it's going to effect your temp, until your body gets a chance to regulate it. If you're running on low cal there can be a pretty decent jump. If you're eating a lot all the time, not so much.

Perhaps shaving your head would assist in releasing all that extra heat. Please take pictures and post so that we can be sure you've done it correctly.

Not shaved, but I used a #2 comb on the clippers.

As much as I like seafood, I have to say that I will NEVER eat squid and octopus again. That was just going too far for me - one time was too many.

Coming back to the original topic, I am still puzzled why it happens so frequently nowadays and never in the past. OK, I'm eating more protein than ever and back then I never lifted weights, but really is this a phenomenon that's only partial to protein-guzzling (devouring) lifters?

I've had it happen in the past few years (before I ditched the dairy) that on particularly cold winter days when I was dieting and didn't want to eat too much I'd just eat a small cup of cottage cheese and then wait for the 'heating to turn on'. Wasn't gonna happen before.

I also have observed that when going on an intermittent fast, that when taking the option of not eating breakfast I would be cold throughout the day. Never really hungry, just cold. Having a protein-rich breakfast would enable me to get without food for another 10-13 hours without feeling cold.

I do get cold easier, but I attribute that to a lack of body fat. On the flip side, I often wake up sweaty after sleeping for a while. Isn't that charming? I sleep with the window open and only a sheet, but it still happens.

No, on the contrary. Back when I was always cold, I was much fatter than I am now. But then again, not very lean either.
Difference: I eat much more protein and have better blood circulation and of course, lift weights.
Result: I sleep in Eve's costume as opposed to having pajamas plus an extra bed cover.

Extra weight makes a big difference in my body temperature. My body is the right temperature at around 180-190lbs it seems, im a fair about bigger then that.

Extra muscle mass + extra cals + extra protein = Hot all day.

I just bring extra shirts everywhere I go and shower often. I'm willing to do almost anything to get rid of this (short of loosing muscle) but ive found nothing.
