ZMA and Casein
I bought a 2lb tub of Chocolate ON casein to take before bed because I hate cottage cheese and this was a better deal per serving. (imo the powder mixed with water tastes like jello chocolate pudding). I was wondering in what order I should take my ZMA and the casein since I know the calcium will block some of the ZMA absorption.
Should I take the ZMA wait, 30-45 mins then take my shake, or take my shake wait 45mins (or longer?) then take the ZMA?

I had this issue in the past and I would take the ZMA first about 45 minutes before bed, then drink the protein shake right before hitting the sack. Thats what I did and I still got the vivid dreams from the ZMA so I think that is plenty of time for the zinc to absorb before your body starts breaking down the calcium.

I have a simple solution: stop buying ZMA. Unless of course, you like getting ripped off

There really is no evidence that ZMA works for what the inventor says it does. The studies that are out there were financed by the inventor.
That said it does help me get to sleep better.

My ZMA costs me $9 a month, that equals out to $.30 a day. I would keep taking it to get to sleep faster, have a deeper sleep and if it helps me otherwise, that is just a bonus.

ZMA is a scam im convinced.
I dont care if its cheap, glutamine is cheap too, but it doesnt do anything, either.
If you arn't eating enough meats, some zinc may be benificial though. But absorption stinks with zinc tabs. If you have trouble sleeping there is probally an underlying issue that should be looked into.

I linked to the studies cited by Biotest's ZMA product in post #32 of this thread.
Bottom line: the only research published on the topic in the past 15 years pretty much came from Conte himself. Do you want to trust that?

I've been looking at a lot of websites about ZMA since this thread went up. None of them are looking at the alleged increase in T levels Conte said it did. But a lot are saying that the better quality of sleep can help with recovery after workouts.
For $10 per month I'll keep taking it.
