This website has some actual pictures of portion sizes which might be helpful. Choose one of the food groups and then choose the particular food from the food list. A separate window will open with a photo of that food in a serving size. There seems to be quite a few foods on the lists, however, that aren't included. Hopefully the gov is workin' on it!

You have to find the serving sizes that work for you. A serving of meat for me may be a different size then one for you. If ate the portions of that above website I would shrivel up.

Definately, but since I know I eat two servings of meat, in general, I just do the math.

I try to judge serving sizes with nuts and seeds, too. Also, the rare starchy carb.

Sometimes with fruits, but almost never with veggies unless I'm trying to make sure my bag of veggies actually makes it to the number of meals I have planned. I hate it when my 6 serving bag of spinach only has remnants on day 6. I'm still guilty of weighing when it comes to bags of veggies, I'm afraid.

Since the world's packaging seems to revolve around serving sizes, it's nice to be able to connect it to something, visually.
