Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
It's loaded with fiber and has hardly any carbs and only 1 gram of sugar. These bars are taste very good by the way. I was just curious if it fits into his diet.
I don't know the "official" answer. In three years of Adam's Diet questions, this is the first time I've been sorta stumped.
Here's my take. I read several study abstracts and articles based on studies, where Atkin's Advantage bars were tested against other bars for their effect on blood sugar. These bars won, hands down. The least likely to increase blood sugar levels. Even over the ones with the sugar alcohols. So...
I just found the ingredients listed online, and there's nothing all that bad in them, either.
Therefore, I'd eat them (I had one on Monday, in fact ) in moderation. The biggest downside for me, is that they don't actually fill me up or satifisfy me, so I crave another one, immediately. I didn't have another, so I was merely miserable.
The one that I had had more like 250 calories, I think. Maybe they have different sizes.
If eating one of these is convenient and you continue to see progress, then I'd eat them in moderation. If you see a stall or feel that they might be a trigger to bad eating behavior, then look at ditching them.
I cannot really add much to that so I won't...just thought I'm chime in with that...

Compared to the other bars on the shelf in my local grocery store, these ones are the most balanced, and have the least sugar. Combine that with the fact they they are cheaper (currently on sale for 55 cents each, with a coupon that is buy 3 and get $2 off your checkout price, yea, read it again, I didn't mistype the numbers) than all the other bars, and I'm currently enjoying having a few a week.

If you're gonna snack, grab some nuts, dried fruit, & beef jerkey if you must carry portable non-perishables.
Atkins, like most protein bars on the market, are crap for the body. Check out this ingredients list (talk about cutting corners to keep profit margins):
Alan did exactly what I was going to do, post the ingredients, thats where you really find out how shitty protein bars are. Nutrition facts can be made very decieving by counting crap like glycerine as protein, and I have no fucking clue how they got 9g of fiber out of that list? I don't eat anything that I can't recognize and memorize every ingredient. Soy is about the worst quality protein there is, is horrible for you, it's processed and cheap. It has to be marketed as a high class fancy 'healthy' product so they can charge more because if soy cost as much as it's really worth, then nobody would buy it becauses it's dirt cheap and everyone would realize how shitty it is. Protein bars are glorified candy bars and in many cases are actually worse for you.
Stick with snacks like Alan mentioned. Or make your own protein bars, gourmet nutrition has a ton of them. I like the mixed nut bars, high in protein, fat, and fiber, and every ingredient can easily be found in every supermarket.

Personally, I don't think 150 calories worth of "stuff" is all that bad. It's better than a candy bar and most other treats that you might eat, as far as body composition is concerned.
But there is a lot more to it than just body comp. The less ingredients we can put into our bodies, the better of we'll be. As Alan commented--rather than turning to an Atkins bar, or most others that have an endless list of artificial crap, how about a piece of fruit, veggies, jerky (salmon jerky is a personal favorite), or mixed nuts? People often question me about suggesting fruit because it is so high in sugar---if anyone out there can show me one person who got too fat from eating fruits or vegetables, I will retract my comments. Sure, if you sat down to an entire watermelon, 10 lbs of carrots, and whole bunch of bananas, you might not benefit your body, but I know there's no one doing that. It honestly boils down to sticking to the basics and shying away from the loads of processed, packaged crap that permeates store shelves these days.

I do agree. I even agree with Alan (Mr. Avoid Food Avoidance). If it's a staple of the diet, you really should ditch it for better choices. I didn't make my daily dietary staple vs occasional treat opinion clear.
A lot of people don't want to go 100% pure and natural. They enjoy eating a candy bar or an apple fritter every once in a while.
Despite the Atkins bar not being so tasty to normal people, to people who've basically give up on candy and treats, it might taste pretty good. Personally, I like other crappy protein bars better, but to each his own. When I'm at the grocery store, the candy bars call my name. I don't eat them, though. I do usually pick out a protein bar for a treat.

I don't believe I'd get fat. However, I would be a bit uncomfortable...
