Default Last meal before bed. When?

Im trying to gain some mass now, im going for a slow bulk, gaining maybe 0.25 pounds a week, 1 pound a month.

Now, ive been cutting and doing it like this:
i go to bed at 11:00 PM, eat 4 eggs at 9:30 and take ZMA at 10:30.

Am i right in eating protein and fat as my last meal? The body doesnt need carbs since you wont really be doing much other than sleeping. Im just wondering if i should move the last meal closer to bedtime, since the body needs building blocks to work with when rebuilding my muscles when i sleep.
Or should i maybe keep it as it is, but add a little snack maybe half an hour before bed? If so, it would have to be low to none on calcium, since it inhibits the Zinc in ZMA, + ZMA is suppose to be taken on an empty stomach. If i go with the snack, and take ZMA with it, would that lessen the effects ZMA has on my sleep? (i love the effect, before i started i always had crappy sleep, now i look forward to good sleep and action filled dreams when i go to bed)

Advice appritiated.

if i were you, id try having the snack. theres only one way to find out if it would lessen the effects of the ZMA- to experiment and see. And if worse comes to worst, youll just have one action-less night of dreams and know not to do it again.

i personally prefer to eat no longer than 30min before going to bed. i usually have some delicious george-formanned chicken with a shot of olive oil at like 1am every night. im weird.

180 pounds, cut down from about 195.

Is it soo slow? How muscle can the body actually make during a week/month?
Im kinda trying to follow thibs "the truth about bulking" where i belive he says 1-2 pounds a month, if im not mistaken. Should i go higher than this and just deal with the fat gain?

heh, I go for 1-2lbs a week... most of that seems to be muscle.. Would be pretty hard to track a pound a month.

It really isnt going to matter what your pre-bed meal is, as long as you are getting enough protien and staying in whatever caloric range you are aiming for.

I like to eat lots of meat, peanuts, and dairy so I eat that pre-bed. The whole carb thing is more or less a myth. Yes extra carbs can turn into fat, but so can any macro.

More or less, your probally way overthinking things. Ive been there, doing 'low carb meals' or not mixing carbs and fat.. but in the long run, it doesnt matter.

yeah gotcha. Yeah could be hard to track, though our scale can measure that low.. i think. Just that last time, i aimed for like 2.5 lbs, and i gained quite a bit of fat.
