Default Early morning NROL and breakfast

I know that I should eat breakfast. I always do.

But this weekend, I will probably have to go work out as soon as I get up so I can get my workouts in before I have to go to work. Based on my past experiences with NROL, I like to push myself so hard that I feel like I am going to puke when I am done. Therefore, eating something before I go is probably not going to be the best option is it? But should I lift on an empty stomach? (I have a feeling this is along the lines of the "fasted cardio" thing.)

I normally would eat something before, but since I get that feeling after these workouts, I'm not so sure because I don't want to have to pull over on the side of the road on the way home and puke.

thoughts? thanks.

I workout early AM and just have a whey shake that I drink during the workout. I'll have breakfast after I get home.

Can you sip a heavily diluted protein drink while you workout?

It's probably not optimal to lift empty, but you saw dos at the Summit, right? I think he says he lifts on an empty stomach in the morning. Of course, he eats more at dinner than we do the whole day...

You have to do what you have to do. Whether you start empty or throw it up, you still got nothing down. One way just wastes money.

Same as OldGuy. I work out first thing in the morning (also doing NROL) and I just have whey/honey shake on the way to the gym. I have breakfast when I'm done.

I completely forgot about this.

Thanks for the replies guys. I went with chocolate milk one morning, and then a protein shake before and after on either. I felt fine, no pukage, nothing.

Worked out ok.

have you ever used something like a simple whey/gatorade powder shake? Just make it out to 2:1 ratio carb-protein, like 20g pro and 40g carbs.

Depending on goals of course, even for FL, the carbs won't hurt.
