Default May i vent please.

Can i vent in here? Thank you.

OK why is it that everyone ( not this board ) say what i am doing is unhealthy? I mean its only for 3-4 weeks at a time GRRR.

All i am doing is limiting my carbs between 40 to 100g net each day depending if its workout day or not.

I ask for an opinion and i get FLUCKED and get a huge its not healthy you need starchs and carbs, GEEZE people its not like i am eating grease or anything or totally cutting out starchs i still have them for breakfast! And i do eat my vegetables FIVE CUPS A DAY.

If atkins and ketogenic diets were so unhealthy why are they used then by people? Why do they have atkins still around? I just dont get it Do we really need starch's? or is that modern mans invention that has created an enormous obesity epidemic? Followed by GIGANTIC PORTIONS FOR A BIGGER POPULATION.

Thanks for listening everyone. no more steam coming out my nostrils and ears hehehe.

It's all in how you present it. I've had very few people question my dietary choices. But, I never say I'm eating low carb. I just tell them what I do eat. Meat, fruit, and vegetables.

When I sit at lunch with my coworkers, I believe that there's no doubt in their minds who's meal is the healthiest.

Usually, any attempt to tell me that my diet is unhealthy is squashed when I tell them I eat more vegetables in one meal than they eat in the whole day.

I'd never tell them it's only four weeks. I tell them it's for life. If you are saying "don't worry, it's only four weeks," then obviously there's something extreme or dangerous about it, right?

I can eat like this for rest of my life, i love it!

Not really telling them its temporary, the exciting part is my cravings are all gone in 4 days since starting this and i am leaning out YIPPEE!

And its true i eat more veggies in one meal then both my parents eat in two or three days.

Whoa buddy ha never use that as an argument. Never use the "everybody else is doing it so why can't I method". That will lead you to getting flammed in no time.

We do need carbohydrates in many forms. There is nothing wrong with complex/starchy carbs. Most people who claim to have carb sensitivities, just aren't losing fat fast enough or the right way and blame carbs.

You do have some people who really have a problem digesting the properties and lacking the enzyme function to eat these products, I don't deny that at all.

You can also go about starch/complex carb restriction in the right manner to optimize the thermogenic effect of extra protein and fat, this is fine. However, I personally believe it should be met with proper re-feeds and should be done for a short period of time or else it can lead to future problems unless you resolve to never eat those kinds of carbs again and REALLY stick to that lifestyle.

Regardless though it is your body, you are your own boss, in the end what you do is your decision. I personally would never take anyone below 20% carbs for any reason and would only do that on a rest day, and while incluing solid re-feeds during a week period of time. So to me unless you are really small, 40g seems pretty unhealthy. That is no longer about starch, that is about lack of veggies and fruit. That would mean only 160 calories a day coming from fruit and veggies. You would never get me to sign off on that, but again to each their own.

Good luck with your cut.
