Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
I don't know how beta-alanine managed to get so much press and hype, but if this is the sh*te that has caused all the excitement, I should start marketing baby powder in a capsule and do a study that looks at creatine plus baby powder vs placebo.
Review number 2 out of 3 in a beta-alanine series is now posted. Number 3 hopefully tomorrow if I can get my blood pressure down enough to stop shaking with livid anger.

excellent review! i wonder why EAS is sponsoring all these studies on beta-alanine - i was not aware they even had a product out there with it but i guess they just might be looking for the new "cash cow". looking forward to the next review!
but but but but but but but tttttttt nation said it was the best, they dont lie!
haha.
Nice work, very interesting read. Because of you ive decided to take a more complex stats course next year. Probally the only person looking forward to taking it haha.
I knew some studies were bad, but that one was just sad.

To be honest, I think EAS actually has a research fund for independent research that people can apply to to fund projects--similar to how a researcher can apply to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for research funding. So, it could just be that Stout's lab applies to EAS for funding from that funding program. It's in EAS's best interest to fund research because they get first peek at the info--even if they may or may not have control over whether it gets published or not. So these studies may not be "targeted" EAS industry research studies.
You know, I should be more cautious in what I say sometimes.
I'm not saying that beta-alanine doesn't necessarily work. But I am saying that there is no evidence to date to show that it does. So if you're going to take it, you should understand that there's as much evidence to support its use as there is in taking baby powder in capsules.
This could change though. So my recommendation today isn't set in stone. It's more written in the sand, and a great study could theoretically wash it away next week.
Nice. I have yet to hear jack shit from anybody about any REAL results from this stuff. The only good I've heard is from the people selling it, and they may be telling the truth, but until I hear quantifiable good stuff from somebody I know and trust, that $50 a month stays in my pocket. Like you said, if it were cheap it might be worth giving it a go, but at that price I need some serious evidence.
