Default Redundant thread.

I'm 6ft, 150lbs., and I need some weight. Muscle weight. Following Berardi.

My nutritional habits for the most part have been shit. So anything is good, but. If I eat six times a day is that going to speed up my metabolism and make it harder to gain? as long as I get the calories in I guess.

I'm going to the store today and am going to follow this food plan day in and day out for a month or more. We'll see what it does to me.

You can find people out there that advocate eating less meals a day when being an ectomorph body type (you). Its not going to make much of a difference really. Just make sure you are getting enough calories throughout the day.

I often eat 10-12 meals a day. Or should I just say I snack throughout the entire day and dont really eat meals. This is fine to do as long as your hitting your calorie goals.

good luck.

Where did you get the idea that eating speeds up your metabolism? Thermic effect of food has some influence, granted. Activity has a much more significant effect on metabolism. You might want to look at Scrawny to Brawny for a complete plan plus a lot of good background info.

I had a similar question. Metabolically speaking, spreading your calories over 6-8 feedings is no different than eating in 3.

What frequent eating affects is your glucose and insulin levels. You'll have more energy and be less sensitive to carbs. Is it is significant effect? Nothing is significant in and of itself, but it all adds up.
