Omega 3 oils...SEAL OIL?
Thoughts? Opinions?
Did you know a deficiency in Omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFA's) is linked to many major common diseases? http://www.omega3sealoil.com/Chapter3
Do you know the difference between the sources of Omega 3? Did you know that Flax Seed\Flax Seed Oil is not really an Omega 3? According to the research there is quite a difference in Omega3 sources. To find out more on why seal oil is superior to any other source of Omega 3 go to the following webpage: http://www.omega3sealoil.com/C hapter4 to read the research. This chapter breaks down all the sources; there is a great 2-page overview chart towards the end of the chapter.
Seal Oil Facts:
·100% natural (no chemical changes during production)
·Provides substantially higher levels of EPA, DHA and DPA than other sources
·DPA found in seal oil and in human breast milk
·Only traces of Omega-6 (studies show we get too much from our diet today)
·Assimilation of seal oil into the body is more efficient than fish oils
·Seal oil is bio-filtered so there is no heavy metals and dioxins (fish do not do this)
·Same chemical structure as human Omega-3, therefore higher absorption
It is important to ensure that our body is receiving enough essential Omega-3 on a daily basis. Any excess is secreted so our bodies need daily replenishment. (By the way any excess Omega 6 that we don’t use is stored as fat). Many doctors and scientists feel that the decline in Omega-3 fatty acids consumption is associated with increased cardiovascular and respiratory problems.
To see a list of all the diseases that are associated with Omega3 deficiencies go to the following link: http://www.omega3sealoil.com/C hapter3
If you are interested in trying the seal oil Omega3 I have a connection in Newfoundland that I order it from for my arthritis. I can get it cheaper than you can order it online. The online price is $18.00(total)for 120 capsules; I can get it for you for $25.00(total) for 240 capsules - 2 month supply

?
One source of animal fat or another is all the same...
Does it have merit, do seals have omega3 concentrations like fish?

Seal oil? gives a new meaning to "clubbin".
For those who are hog wild for fish oil, please get ready to calm down and read this (the rest of the thread is good too):
Fish Oil/Omega 3
Fish oil is not the Earth's savior. It's merely a supp with upsides & downsides like anything else.

I don't know seal v. fish, but I have read that um... I wanna say cod or something has higher values of omega 3s than tuna, without the mercury.
...herring. I think it was herring, not cod. So, I checked nurtitiondata...
in fact, maybe nutritiondata has something on seal fat. *shrug* they have tonnes of info now.
(I'm grossed out about any animal fat/meat/whatever... it's just that seals are actually cute, while noone wants a stuffed animal that looks like a tuna or bass, kwim? What can I say... deep down I'm a girl.)

here... bearded seal oil
spotted seal oil
herring oil
salmon oil
Does that help at all?
I admit I'm not sure how to really tell "quality" all things considered... but I figure the data pages might have enough info to tell for those who know...

If my wife only knew how I behaved on these forums, I would probably get a lot less clammage.

I love to bread and deep fry my chicken in seal oil. Very healthy - 0g trans fats and naturally sugar-free!

I've always said pig is the tastiest animal alive (well dead by the time it gets to me), but I've never tried seal. Hey, if it's healthy AND tasty I say why not.

Here here, Oldguy. I also love well-trimmed landing strips & such. Man, I hope none of the women here get offended by our conversation. All we're doing is showing an appreciation for the wonders of the sea.
