Have you already cut to get to this point?

There are some diets that might be good, but most people can do okay with normal dietary habits, just eating less and working out more.

If that doesn't work, then you may need to go to something special. Something specials aren't usually as pleasant as just eating at a normal dietary deficit.

What have you been doing, so far?

What's your diet like?

Always try the simplest and less dramatic method, first.

If you just eat now and don't track, you should just eat less and try to do it without tracking. Figure out a method to the madness. Like eliminate something from your diet to try to shoot for about 500 or so cals less, per day.

My choice would be carbs. No bread, no potatoes or rice, etc. Or cut those items in half, when totally gone won't work. Have open face sandwiches, for instance.

If just that simple step isn't enough, you can try Adam's Diet. There are a lot of successes with that diet around here.

If those don't work, then you can get into counting calories and macros, restricting certain foods, etc.

The macro-nutrients are protein, carbohydrates, and fats. When LD refers to macros he means you can count the grams of each macro-nutrient. This would be moving to a very carefully controlled diet strategy and he's recommending that you try simplier methods first before you begin to weigh and measure everything you eat.

LD linked you to Adam's Diet in his post. Just click on the link.

BTW, great post LD. I like your philosophy. Another "simple" tactic I like to use is to ADD vegetables. See how many vegetables you can add into your diet. Eat them first and you'll get full before you know it (and not eat lots of starchy carbs that you wanted to avoid).

That's a good tip. I eat so many veggies, I forget about that.
