Actually, I think when I eat a big, big double or triple serving of veggies with my meal, that's when I feel fuller. It's just a lot of fiber. So maybe it's the fiber that fills me up?
Fat does not give me immediate satiation like a bunch of oatmeal w/ protein powder or yogurt(both contain a lot of water and protein) but it does give me a huge delayed fullness. Usually like an hour or so later I feel stuffed if I eat a whole avocado or something similiar.
But, I've tried low fat and high fat. Still hungry.
Maybe your workouts don't match your diet.
A P+C meal will give me temporary fullness. A P+F meal will hold me for a long time. Sometimes I have to remind myself to eat in the 2-3 hours window after P+F.

Same here. While I'm eating something like nuts, I won't get full. But I won't have an appetite for the rest of the day.
I've also noticed that saturated fats are the most satiating. Anyone else?

There has to be a handful of carbs for it to work for me. If I'm dieting and have "some" carbs with a primary fat\protein meal I stay full longer than eating the same amount of calories with higher carb\lower fat.
Fats don't really do much for me either. Carbs tend to give me that "full" feeling much more. But I have been lucky while on my deficit in that I have not really been all that hungry.
I'm not sure if its fat, fiber or both that keeps me full, but anything with a combo of those two will keep me stuffed for a long time. I should mention that I try to be a good boy and eat fibrous vegies every time I eat, so I can't recall ever just having fat without the fiber in a meal.
