Default Betaine HCl w/ Pepsin.

I've been following Chris Shuggart's HCl Diaries on T-Nation and read Staley's Question About Strength article where he refers to digestive problems due to low acid levels.

I'm curious about anyone else who's read these, their opinions. I think I may suffer from this since I tend to get bloated, gaseous, sometimes feel ugly down low (lower than my belly) and sometimes see undigested food in my stool.

However, I do like to get opinions on this, though I may see a doctor on it as well, but since it's not life threatening or such, any testing is likely to come straight out of my pocket.

I have taken Betaine HCl on its own and in a Super-Enzyme formula. I definitely digest high-protein meals better. As far as amounts, well, you can experiment with that. At one point I definitely took too much, because I had heartburn for 2 days. I backed off and it went away. I stick with 200mg in my enzyme blend now.
