I think a couple of muscadine vines plus a smaller area for a few veggie plants would be perfect.
Muscadines and scuppernongs are supposed to be very high is resveratrol, especially the skins. A great reason to eat them and especially to eat the tart skins. I can't believe people spit the skins out - that's the best part!

I've been thinking about doing the same thing since our vines are all in the wooded part of the yard and too distant from the sunny areas to follow my neighbor's lead. I'll probably build an arbor and put a bench under it so that I can pick my grapes while in the shade and then sit down to eat most of them right there.
I've always been a skin spitter since that was the way I was introduced to eating southern grapes when I moved to NC over 30 years ago. I never really thought about eating the skins before - I'll have to give it a try.
I feel the same way about vegetable gardens. I've started one a number of years and I invariably end up mowing it down in late July / early August because I'm tired of dealing with it.
