Just wondering everyone's thoughts on canned chicken. Obviously it does not taste as well as a nice breast of lean white meat, nor is it a nutritional equivalent. However, when times are short, is it an ok alternative to turn to.
I try it every once in awhile I always go back to tuna. I hate that canned chicken.

I prefer tuna myself, however, I don't like eating too much tuna due to mercury. Sometimes I wonder about the quality of the chicken they use in these cans though, and think to myself, I am probably better off with tuna in the long run anyways, lol.
Canned chicken is gross. Cook up a bunch of chicken breasts & freeze them in individual containers. If you put the chicken breasts in a baking dish, add just a little water (to cover 1/2 inch of the bottom) cover it and bake it at 350 degrees for 30-60 minutes (depending on thickness and amount of chicken) it will come out tender & juicy. You can chop or shred it. If you chop it, it makes a nice snack or addition to a daily meal.
I've tried canned chicken and it has all this gelatin stuff - not exactly fat but not exactly water. If I can't identify it, I really don't want to eat it.
