Default Am I cutting too many calories?

I'm kind of new here and I am really excited about making a "lifestyle" change through better eating/exercise.

I just began NROL and according to the book I am a Lifter #4 type. I just began the Break In program. I'm 33, weigh 230 lbs, 6' tall, and rough;y 22% BF. My maintenance calories are supposedly 3400ish calories. If I cut to 2500 calories per day while watching my carbs and eating 1 gm of protein per lb of bodyweight, will I be ok? I'm just curious as to whether I am cutting too many calories. I really need to lose weight. I have muscle but you wouldn't know by looking at me.

Thanks.

Default calories

Hi Bigbriguy1 - a thousand calories below maintainance is an awful lot. Most people recommend closer to 500. Enjoy those step-ups! Good luck with all of this Rob

Ack...ok, I will try to add another 300-400 calories. Good lord, I already feel like I am eating too much. Especially since I am making a very strong effort to drink 16 oz of water every hour that I am awake. My urine has absolutely no color to it.

Default Adams Diet

Have you looked at the Adam's diet in the nutrition section. It looks like about the way I eat, and pretty close to most of the standard low carb diets. I like the Adam's one because there is no counting - carbs or calories - bad pun, no accounting for taste!
