Default Difference Between Regular Whey and Whey Isolate

I came across a smoothie recipe in a wellness book that my girlfriend's mother is reading.

In the ingredients, they were pretty adamant on using whey isolate. Anyone know why that would be? What's the difference between the two?

The isolate is a sort of less-adulterated form of the whey concentrate. Basically the concentrate leaves in a bit more F+C, whereas the isolate is amost pure P.

IMO it's not really worth the extra money to avoid the 1-2 g of F or C. Just go with the concentrate and save your money... or send it to me

No prob. I wasted money once on the isolate, and I got no bigger or stronger than on concentrate

Concentrate is fine, but ON's protein powder is cheap and it's isolate, so that's what I use. Thing about concentrate is, if you use a lot of it (esp. with casein) it can give you bad gas if you use too much too soon.
