Default Tuna Salad Suggestions

Currently I make my tuna salad with reduced fat mayo, celery, onion and hot sauce for taste. Sometimes I'll add in a little extra EVO for extra fat.

I'm not totally jazzed about having mayo in there, but I like the consistency. Today I checked Fat Free Miracle Whip out at the grocery store and high fructose corn syrup is the second ingredient so I put it down. HFCS is the 6th or so in the mayo I use, and I'm trying to get as much of that out of my diet as possible.

Any suggestions that I can mix in instead of mayo, miracle whip or yogurt??

I make my tuna salad with a can of tuna, non-fat plain yogourt, 1tbsp EVOO and a couple of handfuls of chopped spinach which I throw in the frying pan to diminish the size of it.

Throw it all together and I think it's an awesome combination. For me, at least. I can't get enough of it.

Lowfat plain yogurt, as Marc said.

There's at least a couple tuna threads over in the recipes section with lots of different ideas.

I like mine with mayo. I buy canola oil mayo at Whole Foods. They've got 3-4 to choose from, too. The one I picked had no added sweeteners, at all.

I use mustard and lowfat yogurt but I also add chopped pepper rings for a little more zip. I have a bar pizza oven that I use to make great tuna melts with low fat cheese on top.

Thanks for all of the recommendations and the referral to the recipes section, never crossed my mind to check there.

Since I'm on the road and carry most of my food in a cooler during the day, I'm definitely going to check out the mayo from whole foods.

Thanks again everyone.

You can make your own mayo from egg yolks and olive oil.
