Substitute for orange Gatorade powder?
can't find powdered orange Gatorade anywhere here in No. Va, and I have a bunch on ON Vanilla. Any thoughts on substitutions, or where I can hunt some down?

You could always just order the orange gatorade off of the net. I can probably get a url a little later if you can't find one, but I have to leave for class now. I know you can order it because my roommate was going to do it

Appreciate it RLP, maybe you've found something different than me. All I've come across so far is bulk purchasing. Maybe i should just set up my own store....hmmmm

Stating the obvious... but what about picking up some plain old dextrose instead?

Alextown-
If they've got another flavor, you may want to give that a try. If other options are available, it's just a matter of personal preference.
Sometimes, the grocery stores that I shop at don't have orange, so I pick up fruit punch or lemon-lime. They're a good change up from the orange flavor.

mman - that just may be what I was looking for. When you get older like me, the memory's not what it used to be.
jr - I thought I'd read plenty of horror stories about the taste of mixing those two with Vanilla protien powder. I suppose I could give it a shot.

I like fruit punch... Lemon-lime isn't the best, but it was all they had the other day when I went grocery shopping. So, I'll be using that for the next couple weeks.

The mere thought of mixing Gatorade powder with whey just disgusts me... so I'll definitely stick with good old dextrose. It's cheaper anyway, usually a couple bucks for a pound or two. http://search.mysimon.com/search?pgt...trose&nodeid=5
(By the way that's a great site for finding low prices online, I use it religiously before making purchases )

I'd been doing the tried and true 2 scoops gatorade orange and 1 scoop ON Vanilla, and I actually liked it. Appreciate the heads up on the dextrose though. Sounds like a good idea (along with the other suggestions)

1 pound of dextrose
1 pound of maltodextrin
6 packets orange kool aid, (or whatever flavor you would like)
mix well
Not quite as sweet as gatorade. Using all dextrose would make it a little sweeter.
The cost savings are HUGH!

Just as another suggestion I've got two "mixtures" if you will.
Fruit Punch Powerade powder/Strawberry ON Whey
Mountain Blast Powerade powder/Vanilla ON Whey
I was skeptical about mixing the whey w/ gatorade/powerade but I've actually begun to like it quite a bit pre and postworkout.
