Default CLA and carb cycling

I've been trying to start up my own version of a carb cycling, and was wondering if I should included CLA into my diet.

From what I've been reading, there have been mixed reviews of CLAs....

One thing that I read, and I'm not sure if it's true or not.....
Quote:
CLA may increase the risk factors for diabetes, such as increased blood glucose, insulin, and insulin resistance
If that's the case, will taking CLAs with every meal(as recommended), affect insulin the same way as eating carbs such as pasta and bread?

Apologies in advance if my post question is completely off, but I've been doing some readings on CLA and still trying to piece together all the info. Any help would be appreciated! :P

In my personal experiance CLA is a waste of money. On the other hand I did have some success with Sesame oil (Sesathin). I found I lost some more body fat in the month I used it. But again I wouldn't expect much at all from supps. Its all about the work you put into your diet and at the gym.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/cla.html

I don't have any links here but have seen some where you have to take a boat load of this stuff (15-20 gms) per day for it to make a difference. Not very cost effective, at least not when comparing it to Oly bars and plates.

Lol, yeah I tried Sesathin for a day or two. Lets just say Ive never, ever had problems...well downstaris . And to keep it clean, I experienced the same problem that some say they have with Sesathin...so that went straight into the trash because no fat loss is worth not being able to perform or even losing the desire to perform.

Ive never taken CLA and its true, it does have alot of mixed reviews. On T-nation, there is a new article about ALA being good for body recomp...anybody heard any info on it?

Hey Ray, if you're talking about the Dave Barr article, then you should read it. It's excellent. And just so you (and others) know: it actually sends an arrow into the heart ALA as a body-composition drug. Note, he doesn't knock it's other health benefits. But as far as muscle/fat composition, he basically says until something definite is reported... don't bother.

Yeah I feel like an idiot...just re-read it. I skimmed it late yesterday when leaving work and just now realized now what he is really saying. Good looking out on that info.

I've used ALA for partitioning properties, but also great as an antioxidant durring high intensity. If you're going to use ALA just make sure it's the RALA and not the general mix. The SALA (synthetic) in the mix version has actually been shown to counteract the actions of the RALA.
