Diet, Nutrition and SupplementationPost here for supplement reviews or nutritional advice. If you're trying to get "ripped abz" THIS is where you should be.
I personally also like to make sauces with them. One of my favorite sauces is influenced by Indian cooking and is made from three cups of spinach, two whole tomatoes, one whole onion, and three cloves of garlic. I puree these in a blender with 0.5 cups of water. Then I mix in some salt, pepper, and curry powder (eliminate if you don't like spicy food). I then cook this with some chicken breasts or lean meat and add some yogurt for a few minutes at the end of the cooking process. Just think of how much veggie goodness is included in this delicious meal.
And one of my fave quotes which I hardly ever live by, but still like....
I think of every feeding (snack or meal) as an opportunity to either improve my body or to make it worse.
Anyhow hope you all get some good ideas from the article!

what exactly is a 'perfect diet' and how will it make you a better swimmer?
This is a strange question.
The diet itself will not make someone a better swimmer, in that if I eat X and don't swim I still won't become a better swimmer.
However if I swim and eat ice-cream, pizza and beer as my diet my progress will certainly be hampered compared to a diet as berardi might outline in that article.

What I ment was things like nutrient timing and making sure im getting enough calories. Just little things. I dont want to be eating skittles before a meet.
I made that recipe this weekend for this week's lunches and it is tasty and very easy to make. Here is was I made:
1 pre-washed bag of spinach
3 plum tomatoes
1 onion
1 small head of garlic (yum, garlic)
4 chicken breasts
12 oz plain yogurt
Pureed the veggies and garlic with 1 cup of vegtable broth, added curry, cumin, salt and pepper and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Then cubed up the chicken breast and added it to the mix. Let that simmer for another 10-15 minutes. Remove from the burner add the yogurt.
