Default Protein Pudding

So lately I've had this strange addiction to protein powder "pudding". Its something I read on another board (T-nation maybe) as a way to have protein before bed without needing to run to the bathroom at 3:00am (which I'm prone to doing anyway from proper daily hydration alone ). Essentially I use a lot less water than reccommended, and stir the powder into a thick, pudding-like consistency. Sometimes I add natty pb, or some nuts to it. I really like it, probably more than properly mixing shakes, and I find that more often than not I will do it now regardless of the time of day.

Does anyone else do this?

Got any suggestions for other "pudding" recipes?

And, does anyone know of any issues associated with using a protein supp. like this?

I like to mix vanilla powder with sugar free pudding. I mix up the protein drink and use it instead of milk. Use the "no cook" type of pudding...

Butterscotch and pistacio are tasty. Banana's good, too.

Obviously chocolate goes well with chocolate.

Strangely, vanilla tastes nasty with vanilla whey. I think it's the whey. Vanilla whey tastes nasty, in general...

Just a quick addendum, how well this works depends a ton on the protein powder you're using. I've found that protein supps that have strong flavors when properly mixed as a shake can taste too intense and pretty bad when mixed as "pudding". I have to say that I prefer vanilla powder with other flavors added in (a la LD). Often chocolate has a lot of added flavor to make it taste good as a shake, and so when eaten as "pudding" it can taste pretty artificial and chemical.

I seem to remember a recipe from a ways back - protein powder, cottage cheese and (maybe) another ingredient or two. Throw in the blender for half a minute, pour into containers and keep cool...
I made it once and was very happy with the taste and consistency.

Default reeses ....!!!

on a similar note ive experimented with making protein reeses peanut butter cup type snacks. I tried 2-3 times, once it came out amazing, the other two were good only in small bites.

Make some choc. pudding, with protien if desired, certainly not neccessary.

Mix in some cottage cheese.

Melt some naty PB.

Stir together the melted PB and CC and freeze. When someone solid, you can dunk or cover in the pudding and let cool or freeze again. Little reeses cups.

....or you could just mix them all up at once, freeze, and take out spoon fulls. But i found the first way to taste a bit better since theyre not all as mixed up, maybe just psychological. Happy experimenting with portions
