ok guys, im going to need your honest opinion here!!
ok so now ive been working on my diet and im finally done with it. i used the guidelines from massive eating reloaded and used the massive eating calculator to determine my needs, im using these in conjuction with BoM intermediate. so here goes, any compliment, comment, suggestion is appreciated:
meal 1 (P+F): 6:00 AM
3/4 cup egg whites
2 whole eggs
35 grams cashews
1 tablespoon peanut butter
2 cup lettuce
meal 2 (P+F): 9:00 AM (at school)
1 tuna, oil pack, drained
1 cup tomatoes
3 cup lettuce
1 tablespoon olive oil
meal 3 (P+F): 3:00 PM
5.3 oz chicken breast
1 apple
2 tablspoon peanut butter
20 grams almonds
meal 6 (P+C): 8:00 PM
5.3 oz chicken breast
1.7 oz brown rice
2 potatoes, peeled
meal 7 (P+C): 10:30 PM
1/2 can tuna, oil pack, drained
1 cup tomatoes
1 cup carrots
1 potato, peeled
2 slices whole grain toast
ok so now thats about 3000 cals, which what the massive eating calorie calculator. ok so a few questions:
1) on non-workout days should i eliminate both drinks, or substitute them for something in their calorie value?
2) should i keep it workout and post-workout drinks, or should i use a pre-workout drink too?
3) how approximately will it take for me to get results?
thanks in advance for all your help guys, and sorry for such a long post!!
P.S: i know i posted this on the menshealth board, but id like to get the best of both worlds, and thanks, and i know this belongs in the diet section but its rarely being scanned
Re: ok guys, im going to need your honest opinion here!!
- Change out lettuce for spinach and/or broccoli.
- Add some omega-3's. Fish oil, flax, walnuts, etc.
- Don't peel your potatoes. There is a lot of good potassium in the skins.
Your questions:
1) Yes, eliminate the workout-type drinks on off-days and eat whole foods (with less carbs) instead.
2) JB (and many others) are big fans of pre-workout drinks. Actually, so am I. You could do all three, or a pre- and a post-.
3) How long? That's up to you, my man. I don't know how well you'll stick to it, what your workout plan is, how much sleep you get, what your body-type is or many other important factors. Stick with it, measure every step of the way, and the let US know how long it took!
Re: ok guys, im going to need your honest opinion here!!
thanks guys for all your input, i just want something low in carbs so its still a P+F meal, so lettuce is my choice, ill give it 2 weeks and see if i gained anything on the scale, 2-3 lbs. are good.
and im 5'8, 120 lbs, 9-10% bf, 17. hope that gives some insight on my stats, and of course i want to gain weight.
and yeah i think ill switch to pre and post only, its not comfortable carryin a shake around the gym, a bottle of water would be better. and rookie thanks, it took some work but i figured if u wanted something so bad it wont come easily, it feels good to hear people say you worked hard on your diet/training. sure it needs some tweaking here and there but ive got a baseline to start with, and hopfully within a few months ill let you guys know how its working out!
Re: ok guys, im going to need your honest opinion here!!
2 cups of raw spinach has all of 2g carbs, most of which is fiber. 1 cup of cooked broccoli has 5g carbs, most of which (again) is fiber. Both of these have much more valuable nutrients than just lettuce.
