Default Creatine/Cutting/Grams?

In continuing effort to design an effective diet, supplement, and workout plan for leaning-out, I have decided to use Creatine Ethyl Esther (CE2) while cutting. I am currently @ 208LBS and looking for suggestions as to how much I should take, and times of the day that it would be most effective. Normally I take one pill (700mg) immediately after my workout, is this good or should I change things up?

Thanks
Adam

Why Creatine Ethyl Esther? Why not Creatine Monohydrate?

I decided on CEE over Monohydrate because nearly every post I searched concluded better results. Less bloat, faster absorption, and even increased strength, not to mention that it does not require a loading phase in most cases. I would opt for Monohydrate personally just because it’s inexpensive when compared to Ethyl Esther, but to me it’s worth the extra expense for the increased results.

I am working on a serious plan, and open to any and all suggestions. I’m doing a lot of research before posting and trying to keep my threads as simple and on topic as possible. Throughout the coming weeks you could see several post like this, and when I have gotten all my answers I will post a completed copy of my plan for everyone’s review.

Is that the recommended dosing for CEE? It seems like an awfully small amount, but then again I guess I really don't know much about the product. Why .7g as opposed to 3-5g?

No, the recommended dose for CE2 is 2 pills two times a day, once around breakfast and the other one hour before your workout.

I have seen many studies, real studies, on creatine monohydrate. All I have seen on CEE is sales pitches.

I think you're wasting your money, but it's your money.

You're a very impatient fellow.

I've heard basically the same as OldGuy, I would personally just throw 3-5g of monohydrate in my pwo shake, or on off days just mix it with a little water at breakfast. You won't need the faster uptake (if that is really true) with your insulin levels as high as they are after your shake. Also, monohydrate doesn't require a loading phase either, and unless you have experienced bloat in the past with monohydrate that shouldn't really be a concern.

As OldGuy states with a diet containing lean red meat, missing a day or two a week of creatine monohydrate is not going to make much of a difference.

CEE does have alot of hype, but the more I read about it(including the link Lost_Dog left, which Ive already read) it does seem to have some value. Many people say it doesnt cause the bloating and while I thought it was bs at first, since have seen more and more people saying the same thing that use it. I think some do better with mono and some with CEE, it just depends...but if you buy it in bulk (CEE) its pretty cheap.

But I would definitely just buy the bulk and not mess with any hyped up pills...although Pat Arnold is coming out with something soon that looks pretty good.

But the article says CEE "tastes like ass." Personally, I haven't tasted either...

It seems like the only reason to buy CEE is if you get bloated from the regular stuff. But, I don't even know what bloated means in this context. Some people report that creatine causes bloating, but then detail how they've retained water and water weight. Big whoop! That's what creatine is supposed to do. But, this is a one time thing. You add the 3-5lbs, but you don't continue to gain MORE weight. Plus, the water retained is IN THE MUSCLES. If you look puffy in the face, or your pants are tight, look elsewhere for the cause.

If you take no creatine of any sort, adding it to your diet SHOULD cause your muscles to retain more water than they do now. If you don't, perhaps the creatine isn't working for you. But, if you're going to take something that's not working, might as well buy the cheaper version, right?

True intestinal bloating (or even diarhea) can result from creatine taken without enough liquid and/or not dissolved well enough. Warm drink, stir or shake well, drink up!

Yes CEE does taste like ass, actually ass probably taste better. I would mix mine in green tea and it helped somewhat..you actually get used to it after awhile.

Yes Pat Arnold was in some heat recently, but everything I read about his Ergopharm products is pretty solid.

Okay, after reading all your post and the great article I am convinced that Creatine Monohydrate will get the job done. Now going back to my original post, I have a few unanswered questions.

1. Ill consume Creatine Monohydrate immediately following my workout, how many grams should I consume?
2. Should I consume Creatine Monohydrate more than once a day, or just post workout?
3. Never dealing with Creatine Monohydrate I am interested to know which brands everyone feels are most effective?

Thanks again for all the great advise everyone!

Most people use 3-5g. Any more than 5 is overkill, and will just be excreted through urine (at least after your cells are saturated). Any brand is fine I believe, I would check for the Creapure label on it just to make sure it is good.

I agree on everything RLP just wrote. I buy whichever brand is cheapest per gram. I take 3-5g per day, every day. Once a day. In pwo drink on workout days. In some sorta liquid (like tea or coffee) on non-workout days.

creatine monohydrate is the best by far its far better than that other shit been there done that.Anyway creatine isnt really that good its only a bit of water retention not muscle your building.I used creatine but its all hype as soon as you go off the stuff you lose all the water and you lose a few pounds. However it is good for energy before a workout i must say,but if you are after creatine try the stuff by meta-cell its great and very good shit also the stuff by muscletech is good to but its very expensive but effective its called cell-tech i think. Also when you are taking the creatine (5g) make sure you take it with warm water, warm not boiling this will destroy the creatine also i did research on it and they say that taking it will a little carbs will help it get into your system better.Later dude BB
