First Aid

I was wondering if u guys take first aid kits on your rides anf if so whats usually in you aid kit or do you guys buy one of those pre-made kits at local stores

I don't ever carry a first aid kit unless it's manditory equipment during a race. I do take one backpacking. Of course I usually ride with others for safety and to bum food off them.

Off course in these parts we get a good dose of deet before heading into chiggar country.

I probably should carry one but I don't. I would think that a small premade one would be fine. Of course it would depend on the type of riding you're doing. On a short trip on the road or well traveled trails you could get away with much less than you would need on an epic ride deep in the back country.

I checked around on a biking board and only had a few riders reply that they carry first aid. Most, like me, at least have first aid in the vehicle. I actually have two in my truck at all times. The free riders seemed to carry the most. I may start carrying a small kit (bandaids, compress, bee sting, etc.) in my seat bag.
