Well, ODB was talking a lot about the river they shot 'Deliverance' on.

Hey Lisa, ask Joe: I lobbied hard to make sure you attended, but NOOOO. Someone just HAD to go to work! Anyway, we did go by your house first and leave a little something for ya as a kind of pennance - a taste of Chicago.

It was my fault we left so late, I think. Joe asked me what time he should come by to pick me up and I said, 'Dunno, how about 8:30?' Then we had breakfast and by the time we finally got on the trail, it was past noon.

It wasn't work that kept me away (I'm not delusional enough to believe I'm indespensible), it was kids. Someone had to be home at night. Someone has to keep kids and go to softball games (reason for missing last 2 trips to the womble) I get short rides on Sundays and trips to Oak Mtn. as a reward. A taste of Chicago? Should I be rummaging? Did ODB hide it?

Yikes on the deliverance icky boys, I was thinking more about what Aaron says when I have to give both ODB and Sarah good luck kisses when they race and I don't.

Sorry, I forgot, there's a treat for you on top of the fridge. Thanks Kaiser.

Last night I wrote 100 times on the blackboard:
"I will not go to the Womble without Lisa!"

Well, I was sorry that you couldn't join us Lisa. At least I was before we got on the trail. Then, screw the pity, it's all about me!

Hmmm, I thought ODB put it inside when he came home to feed the dogs. Maybe he ate it himself - better ask him - the stuff is GOOODD!

[edit: it's on top of the fridge. don't waste it on the kids - it's too good. ]

Don't be haters - be participators.

Signed,

You guys don't have a clue (except for JP) how tough it is to have your wife reading the same boards you're on.

Today I was forced by rain and cold to go in to a spin class to ride. First time since March doing that. Instructor told us to find our ride in our mind's eye - I was following Joe, Aaron, and Sarah on the Womble. Thinking about it made me sad. I miss you guys and the trail there. Chicago SUCKS for mtb-ing.

Thanks man. I may actually take you guys up on it some day. Joe has intrigued me about the Syllamo.

You can read my weepy sentimentality about our ride here. This was the shit for a flatland boy from Chicago.

PS: Did you know you have virtually no southern accent on the phone? Weird.

Funny you should say that. I've had people (that don't really know me) ask where I'm from all my life. Seems that I never picked up much 'country' even though I've lived here all my life. Must be all the rap music.

Hey, I didn't say you didn't have one. I thought it was pretty evident when we were out on the trail (especially in comparison to your missus, who has pretty much none), but on the phone I can't hear it except in a word or two.

Having worked with people in the South (TX, NC, SC, TN, GA) for the last 12 years. I tend to slip into a drawl pretty easily - found out long ago that they trust a guy like me with a drawl way more than they do a 'fast talking yankee'.

Do you really listen to rap?

Picked up my mtb at the shop today - talked to the wrench about getting some hydraulic brakes instead of my disc mechanicals.
