So i got my new bike today a Specialized HardRock Sport Disc (was suppose to get a stumjumper but im only in town for 2 more months and didnt want to spend alot of money)

Overall the bike was amazing when i rode it today, maybe its my newbiness and inexperience and the fact that i havent ridden in two years and the last bike i rode was an x-mart bike. The only problems i had were the brakes squeaking, the pedals since i hit my shins twice and got some cuts,and the fact that i bottomed out the fork and im only 140lb and it was also really spongy.

I went on a pretty sweet ride i went to this trail called fantasy island which is 1/2 mile from my house. This trail was awesome it consisted of everything downhill,uphill,ramps,90 degree turn i though it was a bit beyond my skill since i have none but i still did it. This trail kicked my ass i almost endoed a few times. The cacti also sucked i got pricked by one of the sum*****es.

I was looking at those photos thinking "hey that looks just like Tucson", then I saw where you're from. I was down your way a couple of years ago on a conference and did some hiking in the hills. Nice bit of country - I bet there's some awesome biking around there. It's sure a lot different scenery than the rainforest that I live in, lol.

Is your shock adjustable? You shouldn't be bottoming it out on basic trail riding. It looks like a nice bike. That specialized geometry always makes the frame look small to me. What size is it?

Nice ride, but I have one suggestion: raise your seat. It'll make pedaling easier. Your knee should be bent at 30 degrees or so at the bottom of the stroke for good efficiency. From the looks of the seat and handlebar ration, it seems like it's low.

That looks like a great bike and the trail looks really fun.

I didn't realize specialized made such small bikes. I am 5'6" and planning to buy a new bike at the end of the year. I have kind of been browsing and seems like a lot of the manufactors do not make bikes that fit my size. I need a stand over hight of less than 27.5 inches which seems hard to find, most bikes seem to have at least 29" stand over height on there smallest frames. I hadn't look at specialized until I read this post. My next bike very well maybe a specialized.

There quite a few separate trails that all are on one huge loop its split at several sections

let see

the cactus loop is 6.6 miles

the bunny trail about 3 miles

the burro trail about 2.4 miles

the x-mas tree trail about 1.4

and a few others i cant remember i think its like about all together its between 15-20 miles or so
