Was just reading cyclingnews.com and Lance has made it official. He will be retiring after his last Tour de France. If he wins he will be the oldest winner of this race. However I think he'll have some stiffer competition this year and it wouldn't suprise me if he didn't win it.

Can you imagine riding up to your local mtb race and seeing this? "Regardless of what capacity Lance continues to be involved in professional cycling, one thing is certain, he is not giving up the bike. "Five years from now, if I'm in Texas and there is a local mountain bike race, will I go down and do it? Probably. That's just simply as a fan and somebody who does cycling for fitness. I'm committed to the bike for life!"

Still, his retirement does open the door for a new American to step up...perhaps someone from the K.R.A.P Institute?
